2015 Limited bumber faulty clip.

My 2010 Trail had the issue after a headlight replacement for the hazing TSB. Mine was caused by the tech breaking the clips when removing the bumper and not replacing them. There was already a redesigned clip to address the issue on the trails one year into production.
My gfs RAV4 has a very similar issue. These bumpers seem to be designed by the guy who made rock’em sock’em robots.

Doubt it. I have a 2014 Limited, and they replaced my bumper and all. Shit popped out not even 2 months after.

I'm saying they've had a problem with these clips from day one.
They redesigned the front clips very early on in 5th gen production. Obviously not well enough.

I believe this is the original clip and it fit all three trims for 2010 only.

no way there's just one retaining bracket for the 2014+ limited's and non-limited. the bracket's are completely different. i'm not aware of any updated retaining brackets.

Just chiming in to say I have the same issue on one-side of my 2019 TRD Offroad. If the clips are the very short little things molded into the cover, they are an extremely soft plastic. Probably melt to a nice putty here in Texas.

I have to wonder if there is some better fix than gluing the dang thing in place.

Oh, well whaddya know, there is a service bulletin from May 2020 with a fix for this issue: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10176697-9999.pdf

Apparently the VIN range has been updated since this was filed so take the ranges in that doc with a grain of salt.

I've got to say that I'm highly skeptical that a bit of velcro would fix the issue in my case. I have to really push hard on the dang thing to get it seated and it immediately pops out. Can't wait to hear if this actually works for anyone.

Thanks for resurrecting this issue - i have a 2020 limited and didn't know it was widespread. I just popped it back in a few weeks back and didn't think about it. Reminded me of some of the tesla videos with fit and finish problems.

Has anyone taken theirs to a dealership to get fixed? I am looking at buying one with the same issue, but would like to know how much it costs before I buy it- thx
