I saw my 2010 was added to the list this spring, and I live in a somewhat humid and very hot climate.

I just purchased a 2106 a few weeks ago to replace a honda that has faulty airbags that aren't being recalled yet. Ridiculous. I assumed that with all this going on the last few years, the new models certainly wouldn't have the Takata units installed.

I've been on the waiting list for my Subaru Outback's airbag recall for several months without getting it done. Now that I've sold it, I get to wait again!

From what I seen on TV is that with all the recalls going on. Takata doesn't have enough new air bags to put into the new vehicles so they are selling the old re-called air bags to the car manufactures so they can put them into the new cars.

How is this even remotely legal? If I bought a new car with known faulty airbags, that would be a hell of a lawsuit I would think. This goes to show that manufactures have placed a monetary value on loss of life and it is lower than not selling vehicles until safe airbags are available.
I did a paper in school on this. Several manufactures knew about potentially fatal design errors in their vehicles, but determined that it would be cheaper to pay out on lawsuits for deaths, than to recall the vehicles and fix them.

Interestingly, mine is a MY2011, not on the recall list though....

Where do you see 2015? The link you posted mentions nothing about this year. I put my 2015 vin in the Toyota checker and it stated no recalls.

Yes. The recall is broken down by regions from what I've seen. With hot, humid areas getting priority as heat and humidity change the propellant quicker, or something like that. Gulf coast and southeast states first, followed by desert southwest and then other areas last.

I ran a few 2015 VINs I pulled off the web. None showed up with any recalls.
They haven't been recalled yet. The notice is in anticipation of a future recall. Apparently it's safe...until it isn't.
Toyota dealers are being instructed to disclose this information to potential buyers. Wonder how you're supposed to work that into your sales pitch...

That's what I can't figure out. Seems like they are just asking for lawsuits by selling vehicles with known safety defects. The irony is that I traded my '07 for my '16 because my '07 didn't even have side airbags and I wanted something I could feel safer in. Now I've got a vehicle with potentially deadly airbags. I just can't win.
