I have a 2013 Trail that has been beat to shit by CO and WY winters, salt, and trails. Unless you have exposed yours to similar conditions, there's no reason for the problems you're experiencing.

No lotions, no oils or chemicals, no flood damage, no salt, etc. All of the usual culprits are absent.
I use Cockpit Premium to clean the interior and have never had a problem with it.
The running board steps are a dealer add-on. Shouldn't all of this be covered under warranty?

Do you wear a ring that could cause that damage on the steering wheel? The rust on the running board just look like normal northern or coastal rust to me on painted metal.

Running boards aren't toyota, the wheel is physical damage not flaking leather

Sucks man. I haven't had any of those problems except the stupid Entune doesn't read text messages like it is supposed to. But that doesn't really bother or surprise me. I had a Tundra before the 4Runner and it had the same issue with Entune.
The only thing I don't like, and it is minor, is the thin paint. But, I think that is most manufacturers now days.
So far, the 4Runner has been the best vehicle I have ever had.

Oh they definitely can't be. They blame 90% of the problems I take it in for on my tires (275/70R17).
That being said, a vehicle with 3 miles on the odometer should not be pulling hard right.

'14 with none of the issues aside from the usual entunes glitches, but I expected that. I also live in Houston.
Take it to your dealer or a different one and see what they can do, if anything. The paint/chrome is the only thing that would worry me. The damage too the wheel looks like a ring has been rubbing it.

Yeah, that's not poor Toyota quality. That's just physical damage done by something on the steering wheel (I've read a few members say they wear foldable knives on their belts and snag and tear the steering wheel leather getting in/out of the vehicle) and typical bad powdercoat/paint over steel on an aftermarket component.

A lot of times it can be what you put on your hands that leads to steering wheel damage. If you use hand cream , work with oils that ar left on your skin, use this antibacterial purell items. All these things over time will help deteriorate trim or leather you are constantly touching.

2011, 118k miles. Looking at it closely I guess the material on the steering wheel is starting to look a little funky - maybe it just needs a good cleaning though. Mine's not leather though - it seems to be whatever the seats are made of. Other than that, no issues.
