The top of the lift gate of my 2016 limited has a bad dent in it, just inboard of the spoiler. The paintless dent removal guy, who is very, very good, assessed that he would not be able to get a tool under the dent to pop it out. He tried the hot glue dent pulling method, with no success. If I open the lift gate and pull out the rubber plugs that allow assess to the bolts that secure the spoiler to the lift gate, it sort of looks like the top of the lift gate might be double layer in the location of the dent. So in other words, looking at the bottom of what should be the dent through these holes, you can't see the dented area from the bottom. Here is the question: if I remove the spoiler, would that give additional access to the bottom of the surface of the lift gate, where the dent is. Also, is the spoiler attached with sticky tape also, or just the bolts? If there is no tape or gasket for me to mess up, I might unbolt the spoiler and eyeball it. Also, some of the those bolts might actually attach the lift gate to the hinges. Can anyone give me any insight to the structure of the top of the lift gate, to help me decide if I want to try and get the spoiler off without detaching the lift gate from the truck? I googled pics of the spoiler as a part but it does not show enough detail. Any help would be appreciated.
