I paid just over $43k for my '15 TRD Pro, i dont understand what the extra $5k i paid was for. No KDSS, which i thought it had when i ordered it, i went with inferno, so at least i got a special color. Aside from that, i have to replace my "special trd" coilovers due to weight of my bumper, winch etc...
I also wish they would have installed keyless ignition, the price is pushing limited territory...
Just my opinion... i would go with a TEP if you're not getting a special color.
Basically the TRD Pro is a factory "tuned" 4Runner ready to do some decent trails out of the box. The benefit is you're paying for a cosmetic apperance package (which looks cool,) some special paint, slightly better protection (skidplate,) and a mild lift kit (which is under factory warranty, that's a big plus to some brand new vehicle purchasers.) It's basically a "lightly modded" 5th gen that is covered under factory warranty, for those owners who would rather spend a little upfront and have it be able to play on some trails without having to add a bunch of aftermarket/non-warrantable stuff to their brand new vehicle.
It's sort of a niche/stepping stone trim for those that want "modded" 4Runner that is under warranty to play with (I know some people aren't like Antman and want to wait until it's mostly paid off before they start sinking money into it
