2016 trd pro sw

Hey guys....nice trucks.

Placed an order for a 16' Dark Grey T4R TRD Pro around September 8th 2015 here on the north east coast and could not get a delivery date confirmation by my dealer. When I called for an update I got the run-a-round, so I called Toyota of North America due to the lack of communication.

Toyota stated the dealer was supposed to contact me to let me know that I would receive the truck in January 2016. This seems to be a long ways away. Toyota said being that this is a special order it takes longer.

Now that I am seeing forum members with new 16' TRD Pros I'm starting to wonder what the heck is going on. I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should wait or go to another dealer. Is this due to the color selection?

Sucks you had to go through all that luckily I didnt.

I would keep communicating with the dealer because they purchase it to sell to you. So either they sold it already to someone else behind your back or it's on the way.

Every dealership has a different ETA for their vehicle shipments. The color honestly has nothing to do with the arrival push back. Perhaps you can tell the dealer you will go some where else for purchase if you dont get a confirmed date or something reasonable for the length of waiting.

Propain - I bet it has to do with the color. If you go to the toyota's official site it shows grey as out of inventory. my understanding is they are only building 1200-1500 of each color, white, desert sand and magnetic grey. I would definitely call multiple dealers and have them check their allocation sheets and try to put a hold on one. Each dealer only gets a limited # of each model and due to supply, it's super tough if you just wait on one color or at one dealer. Unless your dealer has one on allocation, they're probably just keeping you on their list hoping they get one so you don't go elsewhere. Good luck!!
 
deuce656, after calling toyota of north america, and hounding the dealership, i finally got my deliver date and VIN number, it will be here Dec 24th 2015 :thumb3: I had put a deposit on the truck in Sept 2015.
 
That truly is a gorgeous truck. There's TONS of SUV's out there, and by far, this one is the most sharp and aggressive looking one. Congrats on the buy!

Got our TRD Pro (& first 4Runner )on Wednesday. My wife loves it.
