2017 4R LTD Eco Gauge Bar

Is the silly Eco bar display still on the small driver info panel below the speedo/tach? I had it deleted on my 2015 Trail and do not know if it is on the 2017 Limited. I take delivery tomorrow and if it is still there I want it deleted as I have a vision problem and it is very distracting while driving.

go into the settings in the dash menu or in the nav menu (cant remember which)--there is an option to deactivate it.

ETA: unconventional methods for removing include driving over 88mph and/or driving in sport mode.

Yup, I just discovered the menu way to do it yesterday!!! I had tape over it!

I think the only way to remove the Eco BAR is to have the technician use their kung fu to make it go away.

You can turn off the Eco LEAF indicator light by using the menu available through the DISP button on the steering wheel.

Yes, I am referring to the BAR gauge. I know the also silly lamp can be self programmed out by the owner. I am pretty sure the dealer had to do that but it was 2 1/2 years ago and I have slept since then.

The menu will get rid of the green light. Carista app will get rid of the bar. As does driving with the cruise control on.

I took delivery on the Ltd. today and the service department had made all the programming changes requested. No dancing eco bar on my dashboard!

Bought a 2016 SR5 about a month ago and I absolutely HATE that bar. The fact it's on 100% of the time without a way to turn it off or have something useful appear in it's place is nothing short of ridiculous.

Thanks for letting me know I need a programmer... Way to go Toyota. Worst idea I've seen you do yet.

It is possible to change screens where it is not displayed. Scroll through the screen choices and pick the blank one. No stupid bar. The only function it does in that mode is indicate if a door is open while stopped. At least I'm thinking it only works while stopped. I don't normally open door while moving.
