2017 TRD Off Road Daystar spacer install help Bay Area

I have a '17 TRD Off Road with KDSS. I am looking at throwing in the Daystar complete lift leveling kit. 2.5" front and 1.5" rear. I was thinking I would put it in until these original shocks go out then put in something else.

Anyone have or know anyone that in the Bay Area that can do the install? Prefer to go to a shop that is familiar with KDSS.

I'll do it for $100 less than any shop will with alignment.
And you can watch.
KDSS is not as big of deal as people make it out to be I've done a lot of KDSS trucks it's not really any different as doing any other truck.
 
Shaffer's Offroad is in Alameda, big in the jeep community. I'd honestly go with help from forum members though. I would offer but I'm slammed with work right now.

Yup.

So you put a spacer on top of the shock assembly moving the compressed length, or bottomed out, length down a certain amount of inches. These type of spacers do not preload the spring, giving a stock ride at a taller height. So you want to move the bump stop down the same distance so the shock does not become the bump stop. If you don't move the bump stop there is potential for serious shock damage.

Putting a spacer inside the shock assembly, on top of the spring but under the top hat, does not move the compressed length of the shock down, it preloads the spring, and therefore no adjusting to the bump is necessary. Same for adding a different spring.

Top mount spacers are easy to install because you don't need to take apart the shock assembly. Put longer mounting studs on, put spacer on, reinstall. But to do these safely more then the spacer needs to be added.

Get all of that but hven't seen bump stop spacers. Have a link or brand by chance? Im kind of surprised Daystar doesn't sell them as part of the kit.

I am also surprised. But I bet Daystar figures the people buying the kit would never compress the shock that much anyways.

Probably need to have one fabricated.

Most Long travel kits come with a spacer or bigger bumps. On my kit, the All Pro, it runs Timbren bumps which are larger.

Take a look at how Total Chaos spaces the stock bump on their LT kit.

Daystar sells bump stops. I emailed them to see what they say.
