Just saw this article: Toyota recalls nearly 700,000 vehicles over faulty fuel pump

Says it’s something about the fuel pump failing causing stalls and make you more prone to accidents... The article says things about multiple Lexus models as well as Tundras, Tacomas, Sequoias, and most importantly CERTAIN 4Runners. Don’t know how to feel right now as my 2019 is currently sitting out in the garage and is my DD. Anyone else heard about this?

Just checked my VIN. Manufactured 4/18. Ran the VIN through the Toyota recall website, no recall for mine (‘18 SR5). Whew!

recall and CPO

I picked up a gently used 2019 Limited yesterday. Dealer said it would've been a CPO vehicle if it weren't part of the recall. Who knows. I've seen 2019 CPO vehicles. Maybe they weren't part of the recall.
Anyway...drove it almost 500 miles on the highway and all's well.

We haven't seen many fail at all. I drive a 2019 and I have zero concerns about this issue. Just my 2 cents.
My vehicle was recalled, then it was omitted from the recall and now was added back to the recall so I would always recommend at least checking with your local dealer. They should be able to run your VIN right over the phone and let you know. We are having to order each pump by VIN so if you call, they will most likely order one for you as soon as they can.
These recalls are released in waves so some models are still waiting for the parts to be available, mine included.

Same here, on-off-on the list. I have a March 2019 build.

I have seen one person on a forum concerning a 5th gen fuel pump failure.

Toyota is notifying owners in batches. Relative with a Tundra showed no recall in the computer until his batch was notified by Toyota. It's a parts availability issue. No current recall does not indicate an all clear.

Waiting to see if/when my 2018 has a recall. Still daily drive it.

Thanks for the advice. I’ll call them right away to see if they’ll order parts for me. I was under the impression that there’s no fix yet.

I just got a letter from Toyota saying mine is on the recall list (2019 ORP). Three pages that basically boil down to "don't call us, we'll call you. There's no remedy available yet."

This. We have 2 2019s and they were off the list forever and then right after Christmas were added to the list and we got a letter saying exactly what is written above.

Noob here...from what I’ve read here, the only known case of failure at speed is a Tundra truck. Mine’s a 19 bought with the knowledge that there is no known cure. It runs, so far, and I’m enjoying it tremendously!

Just look up your VIN, it will provide any recall information for any issue
