2018 TRD Pro Colors...Cement?

Okay, then for everyone's benefit, please provide evidence to the contrary. I don't have an issue being told that what I posted is not correct, but please provide the reason as to why it is not correct. I was only repeating what I was told by my sales manager. Information is always being updated and you may have heard something more recently than I have regarding the future of the TRD Pro.

As far as what our incoming inventory looks like, I see no evidence so far that we are not getting one of each model in each color although the ETAs may have changed. We've already gotten and sold a Cement Tundra and a white one is coming next and is also already sold.

So in conversation with my not so local but now absolutely favorite dealer this morning I was told they had a Cement on the way in another boat, two weeks later than the expected delivery date on my Super White...un allocated! Needless to say, and without too much regret for others in search of an MSRP Cement, I had her change my name over to the new (inanimate object) love of my live.

There is now a White available, TBDelivered ~ 7/30/17, in the Cincinnati region.

So I just happened to run into the same sales manager a moment ago. He said he got the information regarding the 4Runner and TRD Pro 4Runner from an instructor when he went to factory training recently. The CH-R and Murai FCV saved the 4Runner by bringing the entire lineup back into spec for current and upcoming CAFE standards as the 4Runner is currently the oldest model and one of the least fuel efficient in the lineup. The fact that Toyota was going to discontinue the 4R is also why it has not received Toyota Safety Sense systems while almost nearly every other vehicle has.

He also confirmed that the TRD Pro 4Runner will in fact be returning for MY2018. That was new information even to him since we had spoken last.

I realize by your previous reply that you may have misunderstood about the Tundra. It was simply that there will not be a TRD Pro Tundra for MY18, not that they are killing the vehicle completely. That may still change and there could be a TRDP Tundra for MY18.

I actually got lucky in regards to the Cement 4R, a new employee where I work was a salesman at the Red McCombs Toyota down here in San Antonio and he called the Sales Manager who had 4 4Rs coming in over the last few months and he was able to snag one and put my name on it. Fingers Crossed he did just tell me yesterday it got pushed back from delivery tomorrow to Saturday.

Just got confirmation with a friend that is the GM of sales at my local Toyota dealership that the 3 colors for the 2018 TRDP are Calvary blue, Midnight black & Super white

This is correct information. I'm curious to see how CB works on the 4Runner's big body.

If that color is available for TRD Pro in 2018, i will be buying a new 4Runner

A lot of it was true at some point. The 4Runner was scheduled for cancellation but something saved it. I don't know what did, though.

The charts are interesting. Obviously they only show the actual sale figures for the US and not the reasons behind the numbers.

The one chart shows the Tsunami and Earthquake, but leaves out the US Recession, which surely hurt car sales and also the discontinuation of the FJ Cruiser at the end of 2014, which may (or may not) have contributed to a bump in the following years.

That's my chart and I only track numbers - a lot of the speculation are in the various threads I have started or the sales thread [MENTION=66316]1engineer[/MENTION] started for me earlier this year.

It isn't as simple as that. It is obviously a popular vehicle, but with the upcoming fuel economy regulations, it may have no longer been profitable on the whole. Developing the 4Runner takes resources (R&D, factory capacity, etc). It has to stay profitable... not just moving a lot of volume for slim margins. If gas jumps, those sales tank.

Worse case scenario for you is you score TWO cement unicorns and since you live on the west coast put one up for sale at $3-4k over MSRP and have someone drive or fly to you to pick it up and essentially pay for all the mods you'll end up doing to yours anyways!

The only problem I see is you have to pay sales tax on the second one which would cut in to your profit margin, but you would probably still come out ahead.

A dark matte green would look good. I wish any of the colors were offered in a matte finish too. Except cement, that would really look like just primer.

My quest for a Cement Pro has ended, but it's not all bad. Long story short, the dealer I had my deposit with said they're not getting another Cement. Deposit was refunded back to me. Took the Mrs to one of the more high volume Toyota dealerships in the area over the weekend. They had two "sold" Pros being detailed for delivery - one Cement and one Barcelona Red. It was nice seeing the trucks in person, although we couldn't test drive. Salesperson greeted us at the door. He was super knowlegeable and sold multiple Pros. No more Cements coming to them either, although they did have a Super White Pro in Japan waiting to get on a ship. Previous buyer for that one backed out. Super White was the Boss first color choice, so we jumped on it. Put down $500 deposit and the salesperson put our name on it. Selling for MSRP and he's going to email me the V-SPEC sheet Monday. Almost part of the big boy 4Runner club! Cannot wait!
