Wrong on literally all fronts.

You don't even have to turn on Alexa, you loose no functionality by not turning it on... it's only a feature that they added.

Don't use it if you don't like it.

Amazon (which you called Google in your earlier post) has literally nothing to do with the User Interface on the Entune system.

As I just stated its an APP on the Entune system, much like YELP is an App.

Oops Google is not Amazon, my bad.

The point is they removed Entune and inserted Alexa. I didn't buy a car with Alexa. It's not a new feature, it's a replacement.

It's like saying, we are going to pull your Toyota motor and put in a Ford. Ok not exactly but you get the idea. It's wrong to modify what they don't own.

And just for reference if Alexa is on, she is listening to everything you say and she is tracking your. Not paranoid, but I know it's not secure either.

So it sounds like Toyota is simply abandoning the Entune branding in favor of simply Toyota, and adding Alexa as an available app. Is this correct?

From the email I received it sounds like they have ditched Entune. I didn't get to use it much but I've heard it was pretty bad.

The problem with Alexa is it might do things automatically that you don't want. It also uses the network to do voice recognition, so yeah they are listening all the time.

I was in the car and ask Alexa about my Amazon cart and she was able to tell me exactly what was in there. It's regular Alexa.

So after having it set up for a few days it’s glitchy. I disabled Alexa and it’s back to functioning as expected. Although the audio system leaves a lot to be desired, the 32gb usb drive combined with the slacker $3 a month subscription is good enough for now. I

With most things Entune related, great idea with a terrible execution. Alexa is a welcome addition, but the implementation is awful. You must have the Entune app open on your phone to get Alexa to work. This is because it uses the mic on your phone to listen for Alexa commands even though our vehicles have their own mic. Because of this, if you are using Alexa to play music and turn off your vehicle, your music will switch over to your phone and continue playing. Very annoying. When you get back in your vehicle, you must then open the Entune app again for Alexa functionality. The visuals of the Alexa screen on the head unit are nice though.

I was driving this evening to pick up dinner and my Entune head unit said it had a mandatory update. I clicked update and install and didn’t notice anything. I clicked on the entune phone app and found an Alexa icon. I went back out to the truck and found there is an Alexa in the new software. I linked to my amazon account and now I have all Alexa functionality for my garage door, thermostat, door locks and music. I searched and didn’t see anyone else post about it.

Wait...when you say you have Alexa functionality for your garage door, thermostat, and door locks, you're not referring to the Homelink opener in the T4R or the 4Runner's door locks, are you?
