Here's a little teaser of what's coming and about the final thing to complete other than the Christmas tree on the dash which is not an immediate concern.
I hope to have a comprehensive walk around video done within April. Right now life is just getting in the way of getting out and enjoying this beast.
Next event I will be at is the Texas Toyota Jamboree the end of April. I think on our way to TX we will stop at Choccolocco in AL.

Yes, it's been ready for a little more than 2 weeks. install of the atlas per the calendar was a little more than 2 weeks, actual time was a few days. spent more time on the cable routing for the shifters and the atlas itself. we brought the cables in near the firewall in front the heater fans and stuff in front of center console. we had to make some simple guides for the cable to make a soft 180 to go back to the shifters.
Since about October '21 the truck has almost always be ready to take out and we've had it out maybe 5 times for a few hours up to a weekend. Hope to get a few rides in before TX trip and then let it rip. The cage should mostly be done if not done before TX.
Really very close to being done. Once the cage, new rear tube bumper and rear winch is in that will just about be it on big things. So last thing to tackle is the trans cooler, dash lights and fuel gauge and we have a plan for all of that.
The internal cage is done. Probably the first cage inside a 5th gen. We are continuing to think/plan how we will manage the A & D pillar. The internal was built to maintain some level of comfort and access rear seats.
The internal cage was built using 1.75" .120" wall DOM tubing.

While I put together some videos from this past weekends trip to Black Mountain park in Harlan, KY, here's a few photos. This was by far the hardest I've pushed the 4R ever and my first trip with the atlas installed.
I went with #wheelin with Willie and the guys fr Budbuilt. The other vehicle is an '82 scrambler with LS5, 14 bolts front and back, np203 case, and branik shafts.

Man, what an incredible build!
Last day before leaving for the Lonestar Toyota Jamboree.
Today I finished installing a new back up camera. It's a cheap one I purchased from amazon. Sorry no photos; but instead of tapping into power in back I ran power wire for the camera through tailgate and up to headliner and back down d pillar to outside. Once there, up the frame rail to SPOD under the hood. Also ran power lines for the monitor through the floor and connected to power wires from back and ultimately to the SPOD. It works great and its nice to have a 7" full time back up camera.
Also finally got the 4 point harness installed. Connected shoulder straps to cage and waist straps to stock locations. We had to mill down the stock bolt for the shoulder strap and used bolt on seat inside. It was a simple install. Ended up connecting stock shoulder strap to receiver under the seats to avoid annoying chime.

Yes, it's more common to have them higher up, but no problem here and well within what is commonly done. If we would have put the bar higher up it would have caused other issues with seat positioning, reclining, etc.

The first one we have three Toys on tons.
I'm in the front then there's an fj60 on 40-in tires with an LS swap and finally in the back is Ken's FJ cruiser from Off-road hub which has Irok 42s. It was great dealing with them.
Next a few pictures of my stickey mikeys doing what they do best.
This week my truck is with a master Toyota mechanic who has a garage at his home. He is working on getting rid of many of my dash lights. For the future if anyone wants to get rid of their abs lights, you need to map it within the ECU to block p0500. This should eliminate the ABS light as well as all the other lights on the dash associated to this. For example, the crawl control etc. I hope to have this completed within the week as well as a few of the other lights that are still on my dash so we can have everything off back to normal.

A few more photos from today. The rear wheels finally getting boxed in with sheet metal welded to the body.
Also looking to remove the arb front bumper as it's showing to be a weak point for what I'm doing. It's a fabulous bumper for most people just not working for me. I will list it for sale soon.
Will build a tube bumper starting with a hidden hidden winch mount. The bumper will tie into the mild exo cage which will complement my internal cage. All exterior tube will be 1.75" .188 wall.

I did not dislike the ARB at all with the larger tires and trimming that we did it looked great, it's just not built for what I'm doing now with the truck.
Here's the start of the new tube bumper. Maybe one more small tube and then weld everything. This solution has moved my winch back a good 5-6".

Here is the final bumper. It will be sand blasted today and powder coated on Monday.
My lp9's have been frenched back into my remaining upper bumper.
Added the small skid if you will under the winch to protect the radiator. It's gusseted underneath. Also put a gusset on the fairlead.
Next week I'm off to AOAA in PA.
