DESIGN TEAM: Cool! I think first we should think about-
MANAGEMENT: Wait, before we get too far along, understand that there is no budget for any new molds, re-tooling, or training on the assembly line... and we need some ideas by the end of the day.
DESIGN TEAM: Er... how much budget are we talking about here?
MANAGEMENT: I dunno... how much did those sandwiches cost?
DESIGN TEAM: Alrighty then, chrome mustache it is!

Dude the 2020 has a nice big screen on the audio nav system only real good improvement. Extra safety junk im not excited about it. Cruise under 20? Common dude if you really trust tech to save your life or passengers you have a horrible brain washed up that technology is perfect. Tech is buggy and faulty not perfect.

Thats worse than me saying not getting a trd pro because of the hood scoop.

I rented a Camry with adaptive cruise and used it on the freeway between DC and Norfolk and it was ****ing amazing and I'd love to have it on the 4Runner. I'll wait to see it better integrated in the front fascia in the next gen and have an ability to deal with full-stop and go traffic.

It really is worth the hooplah unless you're just in love with being the perpetual "get off my lawn" guy, which I know most automobile forums are full of, so...

You serious? 5th gen v2 design may be getting long in the tooth but I don't think RAV4 is the better face. Way too much going on there.
 
The Stache is nothing compared to that crap Sense box! What do you do if you buy an aftermarket full bumper?!

I have the adaptive cruise control on my Audi, it's nice but I can live without it. I also have the full stop-n-go (Audi calls it Traffic Assist)... and I never use it. Never. Audi claims it allows the driver to relax during heavy traffic. Ha! it has the opposite effect on me.

In the Audi's MMI you can adjust the distance that you follow the car in front of you during stop-n-go traffic. I think it's something like 1-6 car lengths. Anyway, the reality is you can either have it follow the car in front of you so closely that you'll be breaking sodomy laws in several states or leave a gap so huge that everybody keeps cutting you off, over and over again. I find it more aggravating than driving in rush hour on my own.
 
Those chrome lines did piss me off when I saw the first 2020 - I had been waiting for months in hopes they would reduce chrome and maybe even change the stupid silver valance on the ORP as I almost bought a 2019 but held out for the bigger screen. I did get a 2020 ORP and I will likely just roll some 3m vinyl tape over it. To be honest, the big screen (it’s amazing) , the greatly improved dash info screen, push button, and GREATLY improved Entune Nav/ Apple Car play has made me not really care about that extra chrome. This is the 4Runner I was waiting for and is worth the extra cost. Tire Pressure monitor has already come in handy in the first week as the dealer had my tires at 52 PSI and I only caught it scrolling through the settings. The safety stuff is turned off. Tires and Black valances coming Friday - can’t wait. I will shave that chrome mustache soon though - need to see some mods for this issue.

You must have never used adaptive cruise... It's amazing. Also, in no way dangerous because you are at a safe following distance and can always just hit the brakes like normal. Don't knock it before you try it...

I love adaptive cruise because there is always room for me to cut people off when needed and I know the car wont let you hit me. :second:

The three distance selections in the Camry I drove were pretty reasonable. Closest was more than comfortable for my typical spacing and furthest was a bit too far for my liking but totally fine if you're not one to freak out about people getting in front of you.

I definitely wouldn't use stop-and-go as a way to "relax" in traffic. I'd use it as a way for me to not have to move my goddamned foot a thousand times in an hour. Then again, I'm not a terrible or distracted driver like lots of people.
 
Ive used it before it is cool yeah. But under 20 disables no big deal.

Actually the late '70s up well into the '80s. Yeah, I'm old.

But it begs the question, why does anyone call shiny plastic chrome? It's nothing like chrome. Wrong material, wrong look, wrong durability.
