255/75/17's and FJ Wheels, the perfect pair?

I was searching for 255/75/17s and this thread came up and it was very informative. From reading this thread, I learned that the FJC rims push the tires out almost 1" and this makes for a more stable feeling ride when lifted 2" inches. Does that about sum it up? I happen to have a set of FJC rims that I wasn't sure what to do with but maybe I'll slap on my new 255/75/17s on them and see how it goes. As long as I'm not flinging mud on the side of my doors, I'll be a happy camper.

to the 255/75/17-5th gen sr5 wheel set up once i added 2.5" diameter coilovers up front set @ 2"s and aftermarket UCAs:grouphug:

I have the 5th gen trail wheels with 255/75/17 km mud's off a jeep rubicon, No wheel spacers,
were brand new when I got them.. usually can be had cheap from guys lifting there jeeps.
put about 20k on them so far.. planning to upgrade this spring to 255/80 or 285/70.. haven't made that decision yet..

*Rubbed front mudflaps so they were removed..

*full lock in reverse just barely touches inner front fender well on the bottom edge.. will be trimmed

Pushes it out .66" of an inch, this is just barely within the fenderwell and will help keep your doors clean.

Handling before/after was about the same imo, maybe slightly more planted? I like them because they look flush and they no longer rub on the frame (and can clear the UCA with 285s)
