255/80 Wildpeaks

Just wondering if anyone is running this specific tire as Wildpeaks. I've seen quite a few posts with the size, but not a lot of people with the Falkens. I ask because I want to know how the ride feels as they only come in E range.

I've been looking at 265,275 & 285's as my next tire, but always in the C range. I want to have these as an option but I'm concerned about how they would feel. Also for mpg, seems like they arent much different than 285s because of the weight.

They’re my next purchase. I’m running 265 70 17 falkens now. The 255 seem to be the easiest fitment to stuff under the wheel well without uca rubbing

Its my daily, so 265's are what I really should be buying. But they do seem a little small. Are you going to run 255 with stock UCAs?

Running 255/85r16 on my '09 with 2" lift and very minimal trimming on the front bumper after pushing the liner forward, stick uca

This is what I run. MPG is similar to 285s as you noted. Hand calculated I get 13-16, but I live at altitude. Ride wise, its harsher, but not unbelievably so.

I'd take them over the 285s, just because its easier to fit, but don't take them for better gas mileage/a nice rid. If that is the case, you need an passenger tire not an LT tire.

I run them. great tires. they ride like an e rated tire but I don't mind. i had 265 toyos C load and I don't think there is that much of a difference in ride

Id consider looking at 265 70 18s. They'll be about 9-10 pounds less per tire and are almost 33 inches at roughly 32.6 inches. Downside is purchasing 18 inch rims, but maybe you can find some 18 inch limited rims

This is the size my spare is, because I could only find 4x 17" FJ rims near me. Its a great size for these vehicles.

The one problem is UCA clearance. The Limited wheels have so much positive offset that these tend to rub on the UCA at full compression. That said, its probably one of the bigger passenger tires you can get if you really want to preserve ride quality. Wildpeaks are available as both a passenger rated and E rated tire for those.
