265/65/18 rub with spacer lift

Hi
I recently got a new set of Michelin Defender M/S tires and went up a size. I got a Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer lift on it and I was surprised my left front tire rubs the fender lining when I back up and turn right.
I was pretty sure from reading on here that 32" should be fine with this lift. Anyone else have the same problem? If so I might go back and see if I can get 255/65/18 put on instead. Or maybe the alignment will help?

I do need to get an alignment, but it was aligned after the lift was added years ago. Just wondering if it rubs now, then what time expect when off road

It's interesting...

People run into a little rub and start immediately focusing on getting a smaller tire.

Instead, you could identify where the rubbing is occurring and apply some minor clearancing measures.

It's common to have to pull the front fender liner forward, lose or trim the flaps behind the front tire, and even cut and reinforce a small section of body mount depending on how large of a tire you go with.

If you narrow down where the rub is occurring, you will probably find dozens or hundreds of people with the 2.5/1.5 who have beat you to this problem.

The rub is on the middle of the front of the fender lining. I have only noticed it on the left side. I had hoped to get away with no rub as the tire radius is only 1/2" larger (thought I read that on multiple threads). Also, I don't care to cut into the fender if I can avoid it. I will see if the alignment helps it

Rubbing on the front liner is the easiest to fix... probably takes 15min per side.

There should be plenty of references on here regarding moving the front fender line forward.

I recently installed Falken wildpeaks at3w and they did not rub my liner at all, but it was very close. Granted my 4runner is stock height.

Mine is stock height with the limited/urban runner wheels and we have 265/65/18 that don't rub at all.

Yea I fit those stock with only a tiny bit of trimming.
