265/70/17 or 255/70/17 ????

I need new tires and can get a great deal on some Revo's in 265/70/17 and 255/70/17. My current tires are the stock size. I was initially set on the larger tire but wonder if I will see any benefits in economy and snow traction with the narrower tire. I live in Park City, UT so snow is a major part of my life. I have read many posts that sing the praises of 265/70/17, but I haven't found anything on the 255/70/17. I love the stock ride characteristics, so I don't want to screw with that too much. Thoughts?

Quite a few run (and praise) 255/75/17's, which are the same as what you're looking at just taller. I'm one of them, I love the size. Try a search for 255/75/17's and it'll give you quite a bit of reading, the debate between those two comes up quite often.

Narrower tires are usually better in snow, you'll want to go to 75 series (255/75/17)if you want the same profile look as the 265/70s.
