265/75/16 fit without a lift?

guys, i know this has been beaten to death, but im looking to get new tires in a size slightly larger then the stock 265-70-16 in running now. I have spent the past 45 minutes trying to search, but im not sure if the search feature is working cuz nothing comes up. Anyone got pics of their stock height 4Runner with a 265-75-16? Thanks.

I don't have 16's, but my 265/70/17's are essentially the same height. Here is a pic. I'm pretty much 100% stock.

Stock 265/65 compared to 265/70

I know of several people running 265/75/16's with no issues.

Being you have the shorter sitting '01 it'll be a little tighter than previous years but will still fit fine.

I have been researching a lot about tires. Using this site for most of my questions.

I was scared to see if this size would fit on my 01, being they are lower than previous years.

Well they are perfect. LT265/75/16 Nitto Terra Grapplers. no rubbing at all, full lock turns, bumps. also, my parents have a really steep entrance at their house, with flex, no rubbing.

No lift, 123K, stock suspension. These tires are great. Not rough at all being a LT either. incredibly smooth also.

Figured I'd add to this thread rather than start another.

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer from looking around the forums but I just want to make sure. Plus I'm seriously busy today so can't research as much as I'd like.


I'm looking at picking up a set of Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac's for a good deal that I'd like to jump on. Sized6 265/75/16

My question is, will 265/75/16's fit on a stock 5 star rim and not rub on my 1999 limited 4wd, not lifted?

I'm pretty sure they won't from what I've read, just want to be sure before I drop the $$$$.

Here are pics of mine. No lift - 265/75/16 BFG KM2's.

They rubbed up front when I first put them on. (due to the 4.5" BS of the LC80 wheels) but after some massaging of the pinch weld, they are clearing ok. I am sure they will rub a little when wheeling though... so it depends on what wheels you will be running. The factory wheel are tucked in the wells better with the higher backspacing and will rub less at stock height.

Sweet. I'm doing factory wheels. Feel like getting the running boards off right away now, too. I've got 255/70/16 Grabber AT2's on there now (not sure why the previous owner got that size) and they are getting close to the end, so they are lacking tread height. Combined with the boards it looks too much like a station wagon.

I want to take the flares off, too, but I'm not sure how the paint will be. We'll see. Already have to do a bit of touching up on the lower body behind the board plastic.

I want to do a 1" lift for aesthetics, and I assume that would eliminate any rubbing, even if there were a slight bit. Just figuring out the cheapest and most stable (zero negative effect on mechanics) way to do this.

OK, I got my new 265/75/16 Firestone Destination ATs on, and they look fantastic. I've fallen in love with the Runner yet again. Basically I went up two sizes since the previous owner put 255/70/16s on for some reason. Plus the height of having new tread.

The truck drives so much smoother and softer as well.

I couldn't resist and had to take the running boards off right away (not so easy with rusted bolts) and put some new mudflaps behind the front wheels as well. Wow, wow. I can't help staring at it out the window all the time. Pics to follow.

Do you guys find big trucks (F-250s, Chev 2500s) with stock tires look really fruity after your eyes get used to looking at our Runners with over-sized tires?

Hey guys, I was thinking of running 265/75/16 with a set of SCS F5s with 3.50 BS and -25mm offset. Do you think this is possible or should I just stick to 265/70/16. Stock 1999 limited.

99's have an extra 1" height than other years so if you were to go with a year to try that on, 99 is it. I'd say go for it. Should be fine.

Not sure with the 3.5 BS even if it's 99. I'll put on 265/70/16 and see if there's room for bigger

actually, the stock tire size is 265/70R16 (31"). but in the previous posts, they're referring to 265/75R16 tires which are 32".
