265 or 285 with cornfed 3/2 lift ... looking for pics

To begin with (before I get roasted by any search nazi's out there), I've looked at the pic threads for hours and hours and tried searching specifically for pics of rigs with the cornfed 3/2 lift and either 265 or 285 tires, but I still end up searching for hours because if it's listed in your sig it shows up in the search ... so I'm hoping that a few folks will be willing to help me out.

I'm about to purchase the cornfed 3/2 lift ... I like the stance and I don't do any extreme offroading. My current GY 265's are also approaching the end of their usable life, so I'll be looking to get new tires as well. I'm planning to go with GY Duratrac's, but I'm having a tough time deciding between the 265/70R17's or the 285/70R17's. I'd like to be able to compare the two with pictures.

If you have either setup (doesn't have to be Duratrac's, just 265 or 285 with the 3/2 lift) and wouldn't mind posting pictures, I would greatly appreciate it ...

285's for sure, should probably invest in Spider trax wheel spacers if you have stock rims as well, 3" lift with stock tires(265) will make your rig look funny, and wont handle proper

Thanks! You're right, the front doesn't look so bad with 265's but the back definitely looks odd ... I wonder how much of a difference that extra inch makes in the back? I'm leaning toward the 285's, just want to make sure that it doesn't overpower the 3/2 lift. I've seen a lot of pics of the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift with 265's that look pretty good, but I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the two lifts ...

with the 3" you defeniatly need 285's, oe 275's anything under 3" you can get away with 265's... my rear is also lifted 3" in that picture as well, i had 3" spacer up front and 2" coils plus a spacer in the rear. 285 or 275 is your best bet

yes i do!, the black rims have a bigger offset then the spidertrax though

Alex, that looks really nice. I now know I'm going to replace my 265/70 Cooper stt's with a 285. I've been looking at a lot of tires but keep coming back to those, my wife's vote is for the Coopers as well. Regardless, I'm going 285.

I have the Cornfed 3/2 Lift with stock size replacement Michelin's and it doesn't look like the other trucks. I definitely want to go with bigger rubber, but my Michelin's are still like new. When the time comes I'm thinking 265/70R/17's because I don't want any trimming. Here is my current look...

You dont need a transmission cooler, I havnt seen anyone running one of those at all at all. Its not needed

Wrong. Take a look at the radiator on a V8 and you'll find a transmission cooler. Do research before you type.
