275/65/18 Duratracs

Props on the candor. It's not often you run into someone being less than enthusiastic about the tires they just bought. With the tread depth and void, snowflake, and Q speed rating, I don't see how they could handle on dry pavement as well as a typical A/T, but I haven't heard anyone say anything along those lines until now.

I just installed Duratracs 265/70-17 "E" Rated and I would agree they are not as "planted" a feeling in the corners I would have hoped for. There not terrible but not as planted as what I feel with my Expedition with 265/70-17 "E" rated BGG ATs. I Haven't tried them in the snow but they do stick really well in the rain. Much better than my Expo with near new BGG ATs.

All in all I'm fairly happy with the performance and EXTREMELY happy with the looks. We'll have to see on how long they last.

The big difference between the Duratracs vs the BFGs (driven on several sets from '94-'02) was resistance to hydroplaning and the Duratracs also had a better margin of error when they did get water under them especially in slushy snow.
Dry grip IMO was better with the Goodyears but softer compound contributes to the fact these might not see 60k that some claim they get from BFGs but I fully expect to get around 45k miles from them.

Off road it's really a wash with actual performance but stronger sidewalls on the BFGs would tip the scales in durability but on road I'd take the Goodyears over the BFGs anyday.

I have just over 2 years and 16k miles on mine (load c) and absolutely no problems with them and am very happy with them.

Looks awesome! I would love to go that route if I ever took my Runner off the paved roads haha. This just makes my decision on what tiers to get even harder. I want something that still performs good on the interstate since I use it to go to work every day.

How do you like the morimoto projectors? Anymore cutoff pics? Easy installation?

haha, man, you have my exact setup i been looking at... The only differences in mine and urs, you'd have body matched rims, and i'd have black... Now i feel bad for wanting this same setup so much, and i dunno wat to dooo:crybaby::crybaby:
