I got the tires on sale from 4wheelparts for $700 after tax & free shipping.
Also got the wheels from 4wheelparts for $180 each w/ free shipping. You also need to get different lugs to fit the Method wheels, I forget what type exactly but i know they're extended thread, splined lugs.
So total was about $1,450
Ok so it seems like everyone is stuck on this bfg load range E tire. Load range E is for 3500 trucks. Has any one researched the cooper AT3 that is available in load range C? Much lighter tire, more aggressive tread (hybrid AT/MT design), and rides smooth and quite too. I recommend doing some research

Many of us have used BFG AT tires for decades and are very happy with them. I also love the white lettering option (along with the font, etc) that comes with them.
That being said, the AT3 looks like and my grandfather always swore up and down about Cooper tires however he was not a Truck/SUV guy either. Curious what a 275 with the white lettering out looks like on our trucks.

I purchased the Cooper AT3's in 275/70/17 when I had 500 miles on my runner. The tire shop didn't have the correct balancing cone or the flange adapter to balance them right. I ended up paying Toyota to balance the tires only to find out that 2 of the 5 were at over 29lbs of Road force balance pressure. Ordered 2 new tires to replace the 2 bad ones and the Cooper warehouse sent tires from 2014! Had Toyota yank them off and went with Firestone Destination AT's. I loved the look of the Cooper, but couldn't live with shaking and steering wheel movements at different speeds. I'm not saying all of the issues were with the tires, balancing etc, but it wasn't a good experience overall. The Firestone's are C rated in the 275 size, so all is well. Not as aggressive as the Cooper's, but for me they are the correct tire. They are as quiet as the GrandTrek's that came on it, ride smooth and should get me where I need to go. Firestone had everything to balance them correctly as well. It isn't the right tire for everyone, but in Ohio, they should do just fine.

I find it weird that Cooper ATP's do not come in the 275 size but the AT3's do. Getting a cooper tire in my state is hard as there are only one or two retailers in the area.
Or did the AT3 replace the ATP?
Or did the AT3 replace the ATP?

I have only seen 1 or 2 guys post, but what mpg loss are people noticing with 275/70/17s?

I'm mainly city driving, but I'm at 18.1 with the computer, but actual calculations of miles versus gallons in, is at 18.3. Not a huge difference, but I know the new tire size won't allow the computer to calculate it accurately.
I'll have some good long distance highway figures in October as I travel to Overland East.
It's hard to say it changed much, because I had just over 1000 miles when I got the Firestone Destinations. I'm sure there is some type of break-in period on the engine where it might affect the mileage somewhat, not sure though! I can't say I lost anything, because prior to the new tires, I was averaging 17.5 with the stock tires and the Cooper's for 2 weeks.

I cannot decide where to place mine. I would do the fenders but I have paint protection film on the front. I was thinking on the B pillars but...I have Trail badges going there. Decisions decisions. lol
