285/70r17 Duratrac Tire pressures

What pressure do you run your duratracs on the freeway and trail ???

on the freeway/streets I have them set @ 40psi and for the trail I air down to 25psi...

Yeah wanted to get the consensus on how low can you go and what you guys run them on the streets.

Didn't want to go too low ... afraid to pop a bead.

I run my tires at 35 on the street and usually about 15 on the trail (285/70/17 duratracs and MTRs). you don't need to worry about popping beads until you get down close to single digits.

even if you're not sure how to reset a bead on the trail, you all carry a full sized, matching spare when you're out wheeling, right?

I have a 265/70r17 ... dont know if I can fit a 285/70r17 on the rear

I read a Jeep club's "requirements" to participate in their trail rides and they listed a full size spare with a diameter no smaller than 3" less than your other tires. With 285's I plan to keep the regular spare. If you're not on an overland trip, you'd think that would be fine until you can get back into town and get your main tire repaired.

provided you are not in 4wd, and the mismatched tire is on the front axle, you should be fine, but a matched spare is always best

I unseated 2 duratracs on my old set of konig six shooters @ 11psi. I run all my tires around 36 on the hwy.

Exactly what I ran. I found the sidewalls on the D rated Duratracks flex too much below 17. 15 would be the lowest I would ever go.
