295/70x17

So with the addition a the bumper coming with the full size spare, I have a decision to make. So I am thinking of going slightly bigger in size, to the Nitto trail grappler in the 295/70x17. At this time I am not going to be running a body lift, but haven't ruled it out (will eventually step up to 35s with a rear gear and lockers down the road).

Will I need to do the body mount chop with my caster around 4*?

I have seen a couple of guys running this size and looking for pros and cons.

Also you guys running taller tires then the 285s can chime in as well.

Not worried about the decrease in MPG.

Thanks all.

Do you not rub on your body mounts in reverse with the 285s? I just stepped up to 285 last week and i'm trying to getting my rubbing issues. Castor is as close to + 4 as you can get with stock UCAs

No to derail though. Why not go with 35s regear and locker now?? :hungry:

No rubbing now. The after market UCAs took care of that.

Not going to 35s now because I am shelling a lot of cash out on the bumper. Might end up just getting a 285 spare but really want to go to the 295s.

The specs on the TG's are LT295/70R17 E's 33.54" dia .........,so yep they will rub the body mount when wheeling. Might as well get the body mount chop done by 4x4 Labs while they have it.

Probably because if the banks are like the ones around here they have cameras and guards with guns these days. Makes it alot harder to rob them then the old days.

I would keep rockin the duratracs with a 285 spare and save the 295's cash for gears/locker and 315's! maybe for spring wheeling?! ;):

This country keeps going the way it is, we might all have a key to the vault before too long...

Already don't have to work to receive benefits.

Dlak is running the Nittos you want, not sure if he did a BMC. I did and don't regret it. If I end up re-gearing in the future, my truck is already setup for 35s. Like harper7 said, kill two birds with one stone.

Yup still have my 295s, and yes I had to do the BMC or else it would rub in reverse fully locked right or left...
