2in1 LED DRL Fogs

With fogs it is all about functionality, not abut looks.

Which entails so many things most people don't think about. Like aiming and cutoff. I'm certainly not an expert, but I'm smart enough to know not to mess with something the manufacturer did for a reason. Like choosing the actual bulbs, designing their housings, and aiming them appropriately. And how they're supposed to work with your headlights.

Brighter =/= better, necessarily.

If all you care about is how they look, and you don't actually use them, you're probably okay. But if you use them so much you care how the light output looks, you're probably using them too frequently and in the wrong situations.

Amen, brother. In Europe you will actually get a ticket if you turn on your fog lights when there is no fog (with one exception of driving at night on very winding road in which case the fogs helps you see more to the sides). Here in USA people driving their "Christmas threes" not even thinking about the fact, that they blind everybody else.

Resurrecting a semi-old thread -

Anyone know the difference between the Auer Engineering Kit and the Toyota kit? The price difference is about $130.

By the way, only the gulf coast dealers carry the 00016-48011 kit. I asked the dealership here in Utah, and they can't even get it. They said there is a lot of cool stuff that you east coast people can get that we can't.

I got these awhile back and Toyota of McDonough confirmed that their units are manufactured by Auer Automotive and are made for Southeast Toyota region vehicles as a dealer add-on. I even referred to the Auer install video on YouTube when I was installing.

I saw that if you install the 2-in-1 drl fog lights, the OEM drl lights(high beam bulbs) do not turn on anymore?

Not for nothing but, if you do the disable DRL and keep auto headlights mod, and the anytime fog mod, and install the philips led fogs, the results are DRL anytime Led fogs.

I got a 2016 SR5 Premium last week that had these installed. The normal DRL are controlled by the stalk (I don't have auto headlights, so there is a position on headlight stalk for DRL on and DRL off) the LED DRL are controlled by a seperate button on the dash Below the dimmer. In one of the blanks where the windshield wiper de-icer is.

I can try and get pics tomorrow if you need.

I run with Halogen DRL off and LED ones on, but that's just me

I ordered these online from Elmore Toyota when they had them on sale and they shipped from Auer automotive which is in Jacksonvlle...they're one in the same.

They look awesome! Anyone have them installed? I currently have yellow film covering my fog lights with 3k HID bulbs. I love them but LEDs & DRLs sound very enticing.

I was fortunate enough to have bought my truck with them already installed, I absolutely love them and changed my headlights as soon as I could to match them better. I love the DRL's! I bought 3M yellow lens covers to change them to yellow and did not like the look at all.

These are somewhat inexpensive to buy but after doing some research and seeing the install, I would NEVER take in this job alone. Looks like an absolute pain in the ass! Hope this helps!

Ours came pre-configured with them. I wouldn't have ordered them as it seemed like an over priced option, as with the cargo slide thingy it came with too.

That said, I really like them! The halo look is cool, and they are BRIGHT. Like the stock color of the white LEDs much better than the yellowish driving lights most other brands have.

So I think the money was well spent on them... but still not sure about the slide.

As for this kit - can someone confirm that this is NOT Toyota OEM? Seems a bit confusing that it would not be offered across the whole nation if it were a genuine Toyota part. Based on the more recent posts, it seems this kit was developed by a "business" partner for the Toyota's North American Southeast region.
