2nd gen A/C and fan blower Electrical Problem

Alright so my fan blower and A/C are not working. When this initially happened I pulled the glove box out and checked the fuses and relays but couldn’t find the issue. So I just got my truck back from a mechanic and he has confirmed that the fan blower and a/c work but they are not getting power. He has replaced a relay and a resistor but this did not fix the issue. I believe he said he is losing power after the resistor. So any opinions would be great and if anyone by chance has the wiring diagram for this that would be very helpful.

Also I pulled up my fsm that’s on my phone but the air conditioning wiring section would not load, not sure what the issue is.

check the blower motor resistor

having the blower motor resistor go out is very common on Toyota (multiple models/generations/years).

when i first got my 94 I had one speed. Pulled the dash apart, the fan switch was burned to a crisp. Replaced it with a donor switch I had, still ran like crap. Pulled the blower motor resistor,- mounted on the fire wall, right side under the blower motor..replaced it, have all fan speeds and life is good with the A/C and heat.

you can try going straight to the resistor but it is easier to pull the glove box out to get more room...start on the right side, remove the right side speaker housing and than you can see a few screws that hold the glove box in

based on what [MENTION=137933]joeynational[/MENTION] mentioned here and some folks on yotatech said I went ahead and replaced the blower motor resistor today.
I'd like to have a talk with the genious at Toyota who decided to put a failure prone point in such a convience place (tucked under the blower unit on the right side)
I went ahead and pulled the glove box hoping for a little more room.

got it out after a few minutes and cussing, not the easiest thing to get out.
if you need to having a 7mm wrench helps on the back screw/bolt, you can get to the visible screw with a screwdriver or nut driver.
new one on the left, old one on the right..old one was slightly tarnished.
new one should offer a few years of good service

I am pretty positive he replace the resistor and also the fan blower switch and neither helped. BUT I will verify this tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.

does the shop show it on your receipt? taking apart the dash to get to the fan switch (if you aren't familiar with the process) can be time consuming. How many hours did they charge you for replacing the dash and blower resistor?
Asking more out of curiosity. Not really sure what else it could be.
Hope you get it figured out. Tracking down electrical gremlins can be a major pain, good luck

edit: just re-read your 1st post and it says they replaced a relay & the resistor. So it could still be your switch.

Just spoke with him. He changed the blower switch ( only had to take the face of the dash off not the dash board) , resistor and relay. Said that he wasn’t getting power to a control board that’s past the resistor.
