2nd gen supercharger question. Mounting hardware?

I may have found a supercharger that I'm willing to pick up, but at the moment the guy thinks he might not have anything but the supercharger itself. Meaning if there is no mounting hardware, how hard will it be to obtain those screws and missing pieces?

I know the throttle body gasket should be easy to get. But the screws and probably going to be hard to find.

Also it's been sitting for a year, change oil on it for sure but anything else to look for?

I'm sure the stealership could find all the parts you need but I hope you are getting a good deal on it if he is missing all those parts.

From what I recall, those extra parts are worth A LOT.

I wouldn't consider it unless it has the parts, or it's dirt cheap.

Please confirm, but be ready to be shocked at the additive cost.

Yeah I have seen just superchargers sell for 600-800 depending on condition. Try to get the most complete kit as possible. Save yourself a headache in the long run.

Alright SO...

First step, download the PDF TRD install manual. It will list part by part everything that's in the kit.

The only bolt you don't re-use from stock should be (According to Gadget @ URD) 8x1.25x170mm socket headed cap screw... The is the bolt the funs all the way through the supercharger, and into the manifold. Order from your favorite bolt provider.

Call TRD for the cable bracket

TRD Supercharger Belt - V6 3.4L
(Part #PTR30-35040) NOTE*** Gates also makes a belt that's much cheaper. You can get it from Tokensolutions.

TRD Replacement Check Valve - One Way (3.4 V6 S/C)
(Part #PTR26-35042)

Replacement Throttle Body Gasket - TRD SuperCharger (3.4L)
(Part #PTR26-35041)

TRD Tensioner - (Part #PTR26-35040)


Once you find out exactly what he has, let me know and I will get a better list of what you need / where to get it.

so your saying "technically" i have all the mounting hardware already stock on my motor except that one long bolt? which i am hoping its safe to say will be easy to find?

cable bracket?

belt should be easy to find along with the check valve and gasket for sure.

also tensioner meaning either the static tensioner or the dynamic new ones right?

i dont get to meet him up till wednesday so till then ill let you know

Technically yes, you do have everything you need to physically bolt it to your 4Runner, other than that one bolt. Will it be easy to find? Maybe not, but it should be. I haven't sourced it myself, but if I needed one I would be heading to Fastenal... edit*** I just tried to find one 8x1.25x170mm and came up empty handed. Gadget also said a 8x1.25x180mm would work - those are available from Grainger for ~$6.00. Of course, try to hit up TRD first, as they may have a 170mm laying around.

The cable bracket mounts to the top of the supercharger and holds your throttle cable, and trans kickdown cable.

The belt, check valve, and TB gasket will indeed be easy to source. For the belt either get a Gates, or the TRD belt.

Correct, the tensioner meaning either the static, or dynamic. I highly recommend the dynamic, even if it's a few more dollars.
