2nd Gen - Jackson Hole, WY

My sister's boyfriend has a '94 Toyota 4Runner SR5. They live in Jackson Hole, WY. Definitely has seen better days but her character is hard not to love. This rig is a total valley beater. She's a tough ***** and likes to be roughed around, prefers it even. I have to say I missed her attitude when got back to my 3rd Gen in New York.

Some more outdoors with friends

Up, up, up, up hill and then down, down, down to the riverbanks...

1st part, going up. You can see the road cutting the mountain.

Stop for sightseeing...

... where one can find some geologic information about the landscape there.

Going down the mountains, to the river, a passage under a rail road.

And finally the riverbanks.

Discovery rescue!

The friend on the Discovery didn't do so well on the sand, which came as a surprise for me, apart from being a Toyota fan. His Disco 2 is in real nice shape, has solid axle in the front and a healthy V8 under the hood.

Off to the rescue!

Hope the TR4.org fellows enjoy the pictures! Most of them were taken by the friend on the third car, the Suzuki Jimny. I don't know why but he has a kick taking tilted pictures, LOL. He always tilts the camera!

Nice pics - I hope you had as much fun as it looked! I like your 4r, it's very clean and we even have the same stock running boards and cool stripes! Those bumpers are clean, how many miles do you have on your 4r?:thumb3:

How does your friend like the Jimny? Getting off forum here but I've always liked the Suzuki Samurai. Kinda neat little thing, but I can't find them around here in good condition.

The purpose of this rig is mostly traveling with the family on the road / dirt roads. No real off-roading in her future, so the running boards stay.

Its currently with 145k Km (aprox 90k miles).

I also have a Samurai dedicated to trail beating, and the Jimny is after all, "today´s Samurai". You can buy them new over here. They're 1.3L as the Samurai, but with a 16v head. They are very nice.

Just so I can see which I want to do. Seems like most everybody is running leafs instead of the 4link and coilovers

Well, I don't think there are any TRD things for a 2nd gen...

I got Prothane sway bar bushings for my 3rd gen front and rear and the handling is much better.

This is what I went with (front and back) when I snapped the OEM rear sway bar -- Addco - and they are BEEFY! They've been on for over a year now, and haven't had any problems, or snappage.

Very nice! I'd like more details on your rig--do you have a build thread on here? I've already had one nice SAS rig, foolishly sold it a while back, and want to build an even better one down the road, so was curious to see what you have under yours. Keep on exploring (I loooove doing that)!
