I am going to install an infinity basslink powered sub into my 1990 4runner. I have a 97 camry stock headunit installed and was wondering if I could plug the amp straight into the headunit or will I have to buy some extra wires or something? Also, I am putting the amp in the very back of the truck and was wondering where to run the wires. Any help is appreciated.

ah the mighty subwoofer. 
as far as the headunit goes. does it have pre amp hook ups? (RCAs) if it doesnt does your amp have high input? the high input is from your speakers.
your amp will need a 12volt "remote" wire from your headunit. this triggers a relay inside the amp and turns it on/off when a current is sent though. preferably from the headunit (no point in having your amp on when your stereo isn't)

When I was connecting the wire that goes from the battery to the amp, I had to use the grommet on the drivers side of the firewall (the opposite side that the battery is on) and I realized that the wire would not reach all the way to the back of the truck. It is about a foot too short. Is there a grommet on the passenger side that I could use or do I need to make one ? Is it alright to just drill a hole in the firewall or do I need to do something else?
Ok guys I got everything wired and plugged in but when I turn on the stereo, the amp powers on but no sound comes out. I think I got the RCA's mixed up when I plugged them into the headunit. I thought I would ask you guys first though before I take the headunit back out to switch them.
