3.0 to 3.4 engine swap

How could I get ahold of him? I've been trying to find somebody with info on motor mounts to bolt my 88 3.0 into my 91 four runner. The mounts for the 88 motor are different from the 91 motor that was in it originally which was pulled by the previous owner. The mounts seem to be quite elusive which is actually why the previous owner sold the car.

The quote you posted is from 2013. Probably not gonna be much help.

You can call Yota Yard. They are a Toyota only salvage yard in Colorado I think and although they aren’t the chippiest to speak to, if given enough information they can probably find what you need. I would HIGHLY suggest emailing them images before just buying what they say they have... they have a lot of stuff. And it is a junkyard after all.

Otherwise, can you be more specific as to what you actually need? I was under the impression all 3.0’s were the same and therefore all their mounts should be the same. Unless you’re trying to put a 3.0 into a 4Runner that had a 4 cylinder?

I swapped mine from 22RE to 5VZFE. It was astoundly easy, if you have the donor rig (which I did) The whole engine and engine harness goes into the recipient vehicle almost untouched. You will have to deal with starter and battery, almost nothing else.

We took the body harness connection to the ECU from the donor vehicle and pulled the entire harness out. The connectors have just a few wires that are needed. This is from memory:
3 for the OBDII connector
power from the MAS to fuel pump (circuit opening relay)
starter
ignition
CEL (yes, dammit, I wanted that CEL to work!)
I know theres one or two others Im forgetting. These all were tapped into the correct locations in the 86 wiring harness. Only difficult one was circuit opening relay, had to wire up a relay and plumb it into the fuel pump circuit.

I did not do the wiring design, Nick (Bluetoy) out of Skyline, Al did that, and he has all the notes on it. He told me what to connect where, and it all worked on the first try. The wiring part of the swap, with *very* intimidating pics, is here: Toyota Engine Swap - RCRC Forum - Page 2

ETA: I forgot, the speed sensor (the 4cyl actually has a connection in the instrument panel that works for this purpose) and the tach - I had to get a 4cyl tach to 6cyl feed converter box to address that.

Im looking for some info on 3.4 swap for a 3.0 I have a manual 3.0 currently and want to put a 3.4 in and have a donor vehicle for it.

The donor is 2wd auto though and I wanted to know if i can use that ECU for the swap or if I need to get another ECU for it. Any info would be great

15+ years ago a guy named Andy Zook did a major write up on that swap.
Unfortunately his site does not seem to exist anymore, but if you dig enough you may be able to find something.
Maybe the Way Back Machine has it. It's way too much to upload.

IIRC you could use the auto trans ECM but you'd have to fool it into thinking the trans is there with some jumpers or something. But there could be connector differences.

Thanks for the info I will take a look over there. I have been able to search high and low for most of the info I need and have all my questions answered as of now besides this one.

It will be much easier if I can use the Auto ECU i have as replacement ones are $500+
Apreciate your time
