3.0 V6 vs. 3.0 Diesel?

The engine isnt worth it, I used to want this engine but all it really is, is an inefficent diesel. If you want a solid diesel with cheap parts with a large aftermarket tuning following, is the VW 1.9tdi ALH, considered one of the best small diesels ever made, with $400 of tuning it can be at 150hp and 255 torque.

Yeah, if you were refering to my post, I know a first gen 5 speed hooked up with it, idk if he used an adapter, but even if you need an adapter Kennedy adapters should work. The motor the 1st gen used was an AHU not an ALH, but the ALH should be a similar drop. And this would pull 30+mpg and with good power and loads cheaper.

I bought it already converted.

If you are going to get a diesel then hold off on getting a bumper made since the 1KZ radiator sticks down about another 2 to 3 inches.

Maybe you (OP) should drive a diesel VW towing a 1k trailer... may give you an idea of what kind of power you are working with... I'm afraid you will be disappointed without the aforementioned upgrades.

Try to test drive one with a 1KZ-TE if you can...

Whatever option you choose, you may have to play with tire size and gears to get the correct mix. Driving your truck with a diesel will be much different then now.

I do see the issue with stock power but as the our jetta stands with a $350 chip and injectors and a custom we have about 150 hp 260 torque, thats a bit more torque than the 3.4l, and this extra couple hundred dollars wont hold the OP back, as a diesel swap is a long term investment anyway.
