3.4 V6 cooling question

I have a 97 3.4 I have owned it about a year, it has 131k miles. About 3 months ago I had the head gaskets replaced because of rough running and the vapors from the tailpipe. I notice that it does not maintain a coolant level high enough for me to be able to see coolant in the radiator when I check it cold. It never runs hot and it performs well. Anyone have any ideas? I am a newbie here and I appreciate any help. Thanks

What is the level in your overflow reservoir ? I never really look inside the rad , I go by the Full mark on the reservoir and keep it at that level .
