305/70/16 will I have issues?

Rig has a 3" lift.

Currently running a GY MTR 275/70/17 32.4" on OEM wheels.. offset 30mm

Looking to run a 305/70/16 32.8" on a wheel with a -6mm offset.

I'm thinking I should be ok?

curious as well...in the future i want to rock a 16" wheel on my 2004 sr5 v6.

was wondering the common sizes for 4th gen for 16s for a 33" equivalent. i thought i saw 285/75/16 being popular...theres not a lot of info on here or the net for 16s on 4th gens.

You can fit a 35 on a 3/2” lift just depends on how willing you are to cut

If I remember, most people with 3” comfortably run 295’s with the usual cutting/trimming. I’d venture to say as long as you have a body mount chop, are willing to hammer the rear pinch weld and trim the front bumper, it should work. Good luck!

Looks good but the 305/70/16 is a 33" tire.

I put a tape on my 35s and it measured like 33.5” main thing is the body mount chop, I also hammered the pinch welds. I’m confident you can fit those 305’s with a body mount chop

will 16s offset a lot of weight compared to 17s typically if same metal type?

if theyre a lot lighter and could offset the weight of more tread and tire than what i have with tall skinnys on 17s (willing to add a few lbs more with bigger tires on 16s) im considering going to 16s in the future. i like how i could probably mount the tires in my garage too as opposed to the $100 at a tire shop

I think it’s about the same, less wheel but more rubber if that makes sense. Just do some research and find lighter tires. If you’re not off-roading every weekend you can probably go with a C load tire unless you really want the E load that are in turn heavier.

I went from an E load MT to a LT AT, huge difference. The individual tire weight difference was like 15lbs. Essentially shaved off 60lbs. Definitely noticed the difference in drivability, especially at highway speeds.

good call...i love my light 255 75 ATs on FJ wheels. they havent let me down and i wheel every weekend basically. they are LT 6ply ATS. i am contemplating going to falken wildpeak 275 70 next time around for a bit more though...or 16s

Test fitted a set of Cooper Discoverer STT Pro 305/70/16 tires mounted on GM wheels and looks like I won’t have any issues .

Pics when you get them mounted. I bought another set of 285’s when I should have gone 295 or 305. It’ll be a while before I can justify new tires lol.

Wildpeak’s are the bees knees. I love them, I’m about 8k so far and smooth even wear.
