$33,390 good deal for a 2010 trail?

buddy of mine is asking me if this is a good deal for a 2010 trail with 38,700miles with NAV. not familiar with trails but apparently he's at the dealers right now and i was surprised he found a trail where we live, deep south tx 15 mins from the border of mexico. I haven't seen a trail here since the 5th gen came out.

Considering I got a brand new 2013 for 37.5, loaded, no.

But that does make me feel better if I ever want to trade/sell it.

It does seem like it is on the steep end, but you have to consider what your particular market can sustain. Like you were saying, if you don't have many TEs in your area at all, there might be a reason why they are asking so much. Personally though, I would figure out a way to come up with the extra few thousand and get a new one at that price. These 4runners definitely hold their value! Last year I ended up doing exactly this, the used prices where insane around my neck of the woods.

Since it's so close to the border, did you you ask your friend to check under the interior panels for hidden compartments, maybe there's extra incentives lurking to bring up the value :naughty:

I paid $34k for my 2010 TE w/ JBL Nav and KDSS last year. 24000 miles and in pristine condition. It was also Toyota Certified.

They are getting top dollar for the vehicle. Offer them 30,000 and average out at 31,000. I couldn't find one trail under 31k in the South East when I was looking recently. Good luck with the purchase.

Did the same thing myself. I always look used first but the 4Runner retains such a crazy resale value I sucked it up and bought exactly what I wanted new. Good to hear they hold the value just as well below the border!

I would say no since I got my 2010 TE new in November of 2010 for 33,228.00

the only place to play here is the beach(south padre island) or drive a couple hours north. Very limited on this area.

OP, is that TE with or without KDSS? Remember that KDSS was an option for around $1750, just like the NAV, it was not a standard feature.
