Great to see a native on this forum. Once I seen the photo, I said eh....I know that scene all to well....lots of aloha in that picture....crystal blue water, beautiful white sand, and lush green foliage...ha ha...Lucky we live Hawaii. Everyone else's pix are not that colorful =)

I cant wait to superferry to Kawaihae. Not sure if you all are like our Kauai natives and are opposed to it, but Hawaii Island would be great to have a islanders week vacation, camping style.

I was thinking Kiholo Bay & Green Sand Beach would be top on the list. Where else would you suggest?

Yeah I know what you mean. They had trouble finding mine. I got the last 07 Black Sport Edition with 4X4 and a V8 within like 700 miles. They had to truck it down to me on a flat bed from about an hour and a half north.

When we were looking we found one for 26999 in Tennessee and then in Boston one day it popped up for 24800 with 12k of miles on it and we jumped on it. Too bad its taken so long to get here! Im so excited and do you reccommend the 2/1 Cornfed or 3/2?

I debated between the 1" leveling kit and the 2/1 lift kit for months before I finally bought mine. I ended up with the 2/1, thank god, however I do wish I had gone with the 3/2 but I never even considered it before because i didn't want to lift it TOO much. When I get new tires (after my Nittos wear out in a few years) I am going to swap out the 2/1 with a 3/2 and go bigger on the tires. The 2/1 looks amazing at first, but you start to get so used to it, that you forget how bad the squashed nose looks on stock 4th gens. Unless I am parked next to another 4runner, I barely even notice, but it's very obvious that mine is lifted when comparing them side by side. The 2/1 makes it look like it should come from the factory, so I think thats why I got so used to it.

So I guess in the end, go with the 2/1 if you want to go on the safe side and to make your truck like it should have in the first place. It gives it much less of a "mall crawler" stance. The 3/2 will be more obvious, especially if you go with larger tires. But go with what you feel would best fit your needs, not based on what other people tell you to do. Either lift will make it look badass. :bigok:

Look for yourself in my 2/1 cornfed lift thread, to see how horrible it looked before I lifted it.

I love the look of the 2/1 because the stock lift is too low I would want to get it installed somewhere so do you have any suggestions? And did you have to get new tires with it? And why does it lift it 2 in in the front and 1 in in the back?

They lift more in the front than in the back because the truck comes stock with a rake to it, meaning it looks nose heavy, and slants forward. The 2/1 will significantly reduce the rake, as well as get rid of the disgusting squashed nose. That's why they also make a 1" leveling kit, which just helps get rid of the rake.

I did the lift myself with the help of someone locally. If you were to have a shop install it, you are looking at around $300-$350 for the installation. You also need an alignment after working with everything, which is around $60-$90 at most places.

As for if I HAD to get new tires too, no. I had the stock dunlops on for a while after my lift, but upgraded to the Nitto's because I needed a bigger, more aggressive tire to complete the look. Here's what the Dunlops looked like in comparison to the Nitto's (265/65/17 vs. 265/70/17) with the 2/1 lift.

Right now im content with the 20% all around, valor exhaust tip, and a upgrade to the audio (one 12in JBL) which should be really nice, and hoping to get the color keyed grill cause the chrome looks CHEAP not to mention I like the all black look.

Yeah, I was so glad I swapped out my smoked chrome grille. It looks way better IMO. Right now my truck is all black except for the valor exhaust tip, and the license plates/frames, and rims. But I tried black rims and it really brought down the appearance of my entire truck, so I'm sticking with stock for now. I am however thinking about tinting my tail lights and blacking out my headlamps.

Personally I can't wait for the superferry, but there's a lot of people here and I can't speak for everyone. One thing is for sure, if I'm loading my car on the boat and people start slapping my car like I saw on the news, people are going to get seriously hurt.

Makalawena is a good 45minute cruise in 4lo and has stunning white sand, along with brackish water ponds. Waipio, Kapoho, Keahole, Kehawaiki, and Mana road are all good fun too.
There's hundreds of spots here, I just haven't found em all yet

So my 20% all around and tailights would be 275 which is what i think is a good deal. Good choice on not sticking with the black rims, there is just no contrast with EVERYTHING black. Any suggestions how much i should sell my running boards a guy is already interested in them?

Keep them if you plan on selling the 4runner, because you won't get more than $25-$50 for them. It's not worth it IMO. I am going to order a pair of tint sheets for my tail lights, but will do it myself. I like being able to say that I did it myself when it comes to my truck. Shouldn't be too hard since I will have a sheet for each tail light instead of trying to stretch out the pre-cut pieces to fit.

A 12" X 24" piece is enough for each one right?

A precut shouldn't need stretching, and will probably much easier than trying to cut curved edges out of a straight sheet.

I will for sure think about it for a while to decide. Another mod that needs more thinking is the 2/1 cornfed. My mom (yes i know im only 16) is concerned about the rolling with the lift. I told her its only two inches in front and one in the back but still that doesn't do it for her. I really want them I just dont know how I can convince her. My truck is coming in anytime next week from Boston, those guys dont know how to sell cars up there:bash:

20% is darker than 35%. The numbers mean that 20% of light is let in through the tint. A clear piece of glass is 100% because there is no tint on it and 5% is limo tint.

LIES! 5% is NOT limo tint! Tint shops are lying bas****s. I had 5% on the rear windows and could still see through them without too much trouble when looking from the outside, in.

But yes, the lower the %, the darker it will be.

A little angry there? 5% has been known to be referred to as "limo tint" but as he said everything is different. Ask the shop to show you a car with every % to see what THERE tint looks like
