36K service for 2007 4.7 SR5 4WD

Just got my oil changed and the dealer rep told me that (among other things that made sense) that I needed to get my "EFI reflashed ($180) and my power steering flushed ($140) as part of a 36K mile service. I've never heard of either one of these procedures being done as part of routine maintenance? Nothing is wrong with the car and it is running fine. The SUV is mostly road driven in a non-harsh or extreme environment (mid-atlantic region). I'm pretty sure they are jerking my chain, but wanted to ask other folks first.

The "reflash" can be done opening the hood and pulling the EFI fuse for 5min or so. Not needed IMHO. If there's a later version of EFI sofware that should be free per TSB. I don't know of any...

Power steering flush may be a good idea at 50k-60k IMHO. 36k is early and wasting money unless you rock-crawl regularly. I have more suggestions on the power steering if you're a DIY guy. It's super easy.

At 36K I did a fluid change on all three cases to Mobil 1 synthetic lube. I run Mobil 1 oil in the crank-case and have believed in its superiority for over 15 years now.

Lube your U-joints and slip-yolks as well. Other than that.....drive and enjoy
