3D printed Scangauge mount?

I mean, he takes a field monitor housing and modifies it to house the scangauge... it's not really "hand made".
It's a factory Toyota part that's modified.

3D printing a nice black bezel to fit the SG in the Field Monitor housing would be pretty sweet/clean though [emoji1360]

Why not just embed it into the top of the steering column? You can countersink it lower so the idiot lights on the dash are still visible. You can also run all the wiring inside the column down to the OBD2 port. Makes for a simply clean install.

Incorrect. I sent him the sunglasses holder housing and he modified it.

You are both correct, I sent him the sunglass holder housing. Took him about two weeks to get the end product

I just took the back off my gauge and screwed it to the sunglasse holder lid. This way I can still use the compartment for pens, lighters, other b.s. I put a shim between the housing and the lid to angle the unit towards drivers side to make it easier to see.

I'm working on making a 3D printed case for mine (actually the back part of the of the case will be 3D printed, the front will be a piece of laser cut acrylic). I 3d printed one prototype and need to make a few more tweaks when I get the chance.

It will mount right on the steering wheel column and sit flush. It's definitely an unnecessary project, but I just hate the plastic case that comes on the scangauge and want something that will look a little more OEM.

Only pic I have is the contour gauge I used to grab the curvature of the top of the steering column... this was then traced by hand onto a piece of paper, which I then scanned into the computer and dropped into CAD as a reference as I designed the case.

I'm following this. I have one frenched into my Saturn SL1's center trim panel. And am really wanting to put one in the 4Runner also.
