3M Adhesive Remover fogged over front grill! Help please.

Ok, so I used Wd 40 followed by magic eraser and its 98% better! Can't thank you guys enough- seriously.

I still couldn't get the sticky adhesive junk off- but at least I'm back to where I started before spraying napalm on my truck. I think I'm going to bring it into the clear bra place and have them replace the two strips of protectant.

First, use Goo-Gone or WD-40 to remove your adhesive. Both will soften the adhesive and then use a rag saturated with one or the other and you can wipe the adhesive off. I would use the same on the grille (especially WD 40) and then wipe firmly with a rag over affected areas. See what happens. Worst case is plasti dip or even wet sanding it with 1000 grit to get rid of the white spots.
Geez who told you to use 3M Adhesive Remover? That is some potent and nasty stuff that will etch certain plastic compounds. I would unfriend whoever told you that and delete them from your timeline.

Edit: As [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] says below try the magic eraser but DO NOT USE IT ON THE SHINY BLUE PAINT.

Editedit: With your luck let me be clear: If you wet sand with 1000 Grit paper again DO NOT LET IT HIT THE SHINY BLUE PAINT.

I would NEVER use a petroleum based product to clean something off of another petroleum based product like a plastic. It will melt the plastic.

You can try a true citrus oil and it will come off eventually. Don't use anything that's abrasive either..

Update to post... I just noticed [MENTION=118444]flyinhawaiian01[/MENTION] recommended a good citrus based solvent in a post above mine. Listen to a man with experience in removing decal for a living.

I would NEVER use a petroleum based product to clean something off of another petroleum based product like a plastic. It will melt the plastic.

You can try a true citrus oil and it will come off eventually. Don't use anything that's abrasive either..

WD-40 nor Goo Gone won't harm your grille lol. As you can read the OP fixed his grille using WD-40 and a Magic Eraser. Yes there are a few plastics that will get messed up with petroleum based products but automotive plastics, especially exterior, have to be pretty darn robust as a normal vehicle can run through petroleum based products in a normal drive down the interstate. I'm not going to tell someone to do something that I either haven't done already or wouldn't hesitate to do it myself.

Anything is better than the 3M solvent he used to screw it up initially.

I was referring to goo gone and goof off type products. Goo gone claims that it is safe on plastics and vinyls but I have seen it melt and degrade both materials.
