3rd Gen FAQ Thread

Im definitely not saying that you have to be a d*ck about it telling people to shove off and search, but I just dont like searching for something, and 112 threads show up. Then you have to search through them to find the pertinent ones.

Very true, that's the problem I've been having lately.
 
Great thread. How about a link to fixing the broken antenna that most Runner's experience at least once in their lives.
 
Well why havn't you looked at that thread until now?

There is a general rule in the scientific community, that when you write a paper, you don't give it a snazzy catchy name that will stand out and make people want to read the paper. You name it after.... what is in it. Not very dramatic, but very pragmatic.

Ok, I'm being a little smartassy here, but it is pretty dang front and center now that it is stickied, and it has an accurate and descriptive title. I think that is all we can do other than forcing that thread to open as a pop-up when they enter the forum or register.

The comments on people not knowing the search terms to answer their questions is legit, but what better title for a general reference thread for documentation and tutorials than "Tutorial and Documentation Reference".

It just seems like we are creating another location to have to look stuff up from instead of adding to the one we already have. It's more effective to have 1.

And BTW, sorry I missed your acknowledgment of the reference sticky, I didn't see that when I read through all the posts.

Basically, I was trying to say that this thread is null.

Plus, I understand that technically that is a perfect name, this isn't a scientific analysis of how to properly diagnose a mechanical issue, it's a public forum. Not everyone here is a scientist, a doctor, a genius, or high school/college graduates.

I believe a better name, in fact, practically the same name, would be "3rd Gen FAQ, Tutorial, and Documentation Reference." I know if I saw FAQ, I'd have been more drawn to it.

We all know FAQ will grab more attention to the average user. I have to disagree with you also, this forum is very much about making a title that will draw the user. We are no strangers to this forum, I'm on every day and I have over 1,500 posts in 3rd Gen T4R's alone, and I've never even noticed the reference was there. That does say something about it, it's a very useful tool wrapped in a very uninteresting wrapper. My intention was purely to aid everyone here with an easy to find, easy to use, and easy to contribute thread on how to find topics to help them.

So, to reiterate, yes, I missed the thread, and posted this, then realized my mistake, called myself out, and then discontinued pursuit of making this a sticky. Some members did seem to find it helpful that I add a few things, though, for their personal use.
 
I still say we need a 3rd Gen Babe Thread. No, I'm not talking about posting pics of women from the Paliotific era.
