3rd gen front end body interchangeable?

Hey,

i'm replacing the entire front end of my '97 4runner, and i'm wondering about a possible upgrade...

i believe that the '99 - '02 model headlights, grille, and hood can be switched out w/ the '97 model, however the bumper alone would require a good deal of retrofitting, which i don't intend to do.

does anyone know if there is any retrofitting needed to put '99 - '02 fenders, hood, grille, bumper,etc. (entire front end) onto a '97 4runner as opposed to just the newer bumper?

Hope this question is clear, and i thank you greatly ahead of time for any help or advice...

I had heard that the newer model bumpers took a good deal of work to fit, but i'm really glad to hear that's not exactly the case. Identical fenders and hood's even better (my fenders weren't messed up in the first place).

I thought that the bumpers are interchangeable from 96-02, I know the headlights are. I have 01 headlights in my 96 thanks to Fonerunner.
