3rd gen LED headlights!

Found these on EBay... They were $45 a piece but I am very pleased! My HIDs took a shat so I wanted LED. Did some research and found these. Direct stock replacement. Well made and seem bright. Won't know til tonight. I'll post some pics this evening. Kinda nice not having ballasts too!

They don't compare.. They barely compare to halogens. They just produce that cleaner white light look. The output of them are nowhere near ideal, especially in a housing that was never designed for them in the first place. There is tons of discussion all over the internet regarding drop in LED bulb halogen replacements.

These are not the same as the ones the OP mentioned on ebay. They appear (spec wise) better with more lumens yet cost more than 5x the $$ as the OPs. Despite I'd be interested to read what the OP finds although I'm OK happy with my PIAAs.

I don't agree.

The low beams are worlds better than the stock halogen. The high beams could be brighter, but are still better than stock.

They're not going to make the sun hide but so far I'm impressed. They have the wonderful crisp on/off we've come to expect from LED. You also have to factor in the longevity of LED. I've had my lightbar for years and it's still bright as heck! These seem to be just as bright if not brighter than my HID and I don't miss that warm up period common with HID. $45 for one so you need to order 2. Not for everyone but just fine for me! I'll take another pic at night. BTW my windshield is tinted.

Seems bright than halogen. Can you get a picture in a road? Like to see how light scatter around the road.

Sorry guys been lazy on the pics.. I'm currently building my off road trailer so that's taking most of my time. The LEDs seem to work well, they put more light on the road than HID but don't seem to push out as far. Overall I am pleased with them.

That's why they're "brighter",scatter the beam and it'll illuminate more at the expense of glaring oncoming drivers.

Why are you expecting a cutoff? It's a LED bulb, not a projector.

Exactly.

Halogen bulbs don't have a clear defined cutoff either (compared to projectors) when placed in our reflector housing. My LED headlights do not glare oncoming traffic anymore than my standard halogens did. Tested this out driving my wife's Honda Civic. Putting an HID bulb in our stock reflector housing will scatter and glare because the bulb is not designed for the housing. The LED bulb on the other hand is designed so that the LEDs are placed in the same staggered location that the 9003 halogen filaments are located, thus utilizing the reflector housing as it was intended and not scattering light all over the place.

Thanks for taking the time to give us feedback. They're pretty cheap, may just give 'em a shot when my piaas go south which can't be too long, lol!

So this is just bulbs ? Take old ones out pop these ones In? They seem to shine pretty good by looking at the pic above. However, I woulsnt want to blind on coming traffic. I know how that feels.
