I recently emailed the Russian company that carries the headlights you are referring to.

What company are you talking about? This one? ???? Toyota Hilux Surf 185 ("?????????? ??????"), ???? ????? :: Rumin Sport - ????????-??????? ???????????

I am 99.99% sure they are reselling China products. So it is better to buy directly from Chinese manufacturer.

Found these on EBay... They were $45 a piece but I am very pleased! My HIDs took a shat so I wanted LED. Did some research and found these. Direct stock replacement. Well made and seem bright. Won't know til tonight. I'll post some pics this evening. Kinda nice not having ballasts too!

Perhaps I can get that headlights. And I want new and I need new ones because my current Depo's are with broken brackets (but light is fairly well) . But they are twice the price of regular Depo headlights. So I put that purchase into The List just after the new exhaust, all new rear bushes, full metal rear bumper etc. Or with a bit of bad luck if I smash my headlights I rearrange orders in list.

But I have a good idea: I will ask about that headlights here on russian 4runner's forum. There are lots of people from East Russia, they are close to that seller, to the China, and they have lots more 4runners (with steering wheel in gloves compartment though) than in West Russia. May be someone already have that lights and can reveal real manufacturers name or at least say whether they are good on not.

Strange question on LED do they preform better with a projector installed... Basically does the HID rule apply to LED they blind the crap out of on coming traffic any info much thanks

I'm running the LED's and I have not had anyone bright me for them in over 5 months. I believe they just give a much clearer illumination. Not exactly blinding.

I'm planning my projection retrofit soon, this should eliminate any possibility of blinding oncoming traffic!

I have did some homework sense my original post.... And sense have picked up some friends rig, its going to be just as easy to retrofit than install the LED's in I think in the long run it will work out better

After 7 months one of my Lifetime LED bulbs took a dump. Mind you I keep my lights on at all times (when driving), still thats a pretty short life for a bulb. I'm getting a replacement but I'm probably going back to PIAA Xtreme Whites.

Well I'm sorry to hear that! That doesn't give me much confidence in my knockoff ones I got from eBay. I think the drop-in HID kits have come a long way since I started looking at LED lights, so I might just go that route and be done with it when these finally crap out.

I'd be curious to hear what you end up going with to replace these. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

At that price, I think I would just go with an HID kit. The whole appeal of LEDs for me was their relative affordability and high performance compared to HIDs.

It looks like they're waterproof though, so no need to modify your rubber boot thing.

Both of my Lifetime LED headlights died. My driver side back in the winter, and now my passenger side a couple weeks ago. Lifetime LED has sent me another set. This set is different and doesn't have the external drivers like the old set did. My radio gets a lot of static now whenever I turn my headlights on.

I suppose I'll keep the PIAAs in the glove box incase they die again. If they'll keep replacing them for free, I'll keep using them. The website says 30,000 hours of life for the Gen2. That's about 3.5 years of continuous use, but who knows.

I'm not overly impressed with these newer generation Lifetime LED headlights. These newer ones have noticeable hot spots that the older headlights didn't have. With the older headlights, Lifetime sent me an interference harness since the headlights were causing interference with my radio. These newer generation headlights do not have an interference harness available (according to Southeast Overland) so now I've got static in my radio whenever I turn the headlights on.

Ok, so I don't know what I was thinking when I originally thought that the old interference harness wouldn't work with the new style LED headlights. The old interference harness does plug in with the new style lights, however I am still getting lots of static when I turn on these new style headlights with interference harness. I've emailed Southeast Overland about the issue, so we'll see what they come back with.

having not been happy with LED's in a different car ( life) and wanting to upgrade the lighting in my new to me 4 runner,
