Manual Hub Conversion
Hey Dudes, [MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I have another video for you. Special Guest [MENTION=148218]JZiggy[/MENTION] picked up some Manual Hub Knuckles from a 1st Gen Tacoma and I helped him renew the bearings and seals and install the rebuilt knuckles on this 3rd Gen.

Nice video Time. It looks like you have really taken to the press. Trying to convince my ex wife why I had one was fruitless.
Next time try coating the splines with gear oil before reinstalling. I have had luck lately with just being able to muscle the CV back in without striking squat.
Invest in a Dewalt DCF883 to make taking off the UBJ nut, caliper bolts, etc much easier. It really is that good.
Boom goes the dynamite!

Thanks for the tip. I'll try the using gear oil on the splines the next time I'm reinstalling CV axles.
I like buying tools. I just might finally act on this suggestion of yours. One of my two Dewalt guns doesn't sound too healthy. I need to contact them and find out about getting it checked out before the warranty runs out.

Exactly. I just Google "download YouTube video" and there are several choices. Just copy paste the link on their website, pick your resolution and it will download it for you. I chose the highest available quality at 720P and it was like 1.4GB or somewhere around that.

The splines at the end of the CV before reinstalling them. I didn't think it would make it easier, but at only 5'7" I now for the most part can just muscle them back into place. The passenger side on the 3rd gens is much easier to reinstall than the driver's side IMHO.

Those axles with the blue shafts are OEM Tacoma axles.

Used the belt replacement video to find out how to tighten my alt/PS/AC belts and eliminate an annoying squeak upon startup that had been plaguing my truck for a month or two.

[MENTION=102606]infamousRNR[/MENTION] and I love to hear when one of our videos inspired someone to tackle a job they would not have done otherwise. If you're mechanically inclined at all, have a willingness to learn and also willing to invest some money in tools, you can do most of the things paid mechanics do and save yourself a shit ton of money. Sometimes it makes more sense to pay someone else to do something when you don't have some of the specialty tools to pull off a repair or it's just way more involved than you care to tackle like rebuilding a transmission or an engine.

Is there a DIY video for replacing a clutch master cylinder? My buddy Aaron Cook said he would help me with it but it'll be a couple weeks. Not to mention he's so busy working that idk if it'll happen in 2 weeks.

That is correct!
I've almost hit the 3k mile mark on the new trans.. it pulls great. My inner teen driving comes out sometimes and I get on the gas pretty good. It shifts smooth, except 1st to 2nd gear in typical 4Runner fashion ..
But so far everything is working great!
It's hard to imagine that my rig was down for over 3 months while I saved up funds.
