Little update.

Here's how we got her June 2013 with 112k miles.



Wife rear ended someone several months after...noooooo! Took the Insurance check and decided to put on a 4xInnovations plate bumper (winch access ports delete, don't need it for now, can always cut out later if needed), found replacement stock lights and put in a little elbow grease to tweak the fender that was slightly bent (not perfect) then painted the bumper to match body color. Also removed running boards, free 2" lift!









And finally a filthy picture at Loveland Ski Area, CO before we rode 27" of powder that fell in 48hrs!

Ok so throw some 42's on it...would it practical then? It wasn't built to be practical, it was built to be fun and functional. I'm sure it did great down at the Hammers, betting it would do good at Rubicon and Fordyce. I'd run the crap out of it. That's just my .02

I get what you are saying. I know you are a hard core crawler guy like me. It was just too damn big and wide to really wheel to me. I bought a '97 limited with blown head gaskets a few months back. The guy printed out a picture of that beast and said he was thinking about building it similar to that one. I'll admit I keep thinking about throwing my 42's and tons under it. And I have LS sitting there too. If I did it...I would want a low frame height and narrow wheel track. Just my .02. Btw your Runner is damn nice!

Any Ideas

I have a 97 4runner SR5 Manual that already has a 2" lift and on 32's, i have done little things such as touching up paint jobs, with graduation money i would like to upgrade to new suspension with a three inch lift, more heavy duty, what would be the best options? Also any ideas on cheapest way to increase power?

Sounds like you have a good base to start with, however, its very hard to answer that question there are many different suspension lifts available. Toytec offers many different setups. You can also look into the Tundra/LC lift. This forum has all the answers to your question just take some time and research.

Lol I know exactly where this is. I remember going out there in the summer and just walking out onto the pipe and laying down. It's nice and cold so it felt awesome haha. Looks like a fun trip though!

i didnt actually go on the pipe but couldnt pass up the photo opp in dove springs.
it was fun even if both of us almost rolled.

Run in KoH? lol I don't think appearance was high on the build priority list on this. I'd like to know what exactly is propelling the thing.

He has a Chevy 6L under the good and it is used mainly for snow wheeling. 52in tires aired down have a pretty big footprint. The throw 48s for wheeling in the rocks

we finally got a good snow in NC. The top picture was I 40 wensday night, me and my buddy decided we would drive home from college with about 3-5in in one lane on the interstate it was a long drive home!! We got about 15in at my place in Haywood county.
