Got a '98 Limited back in April to (reluctantly) replace my trusty '84 2WD Pickup. Being stuck in AZ this summer reminded me that not having A/C is horrible, and it was time to get 4WD for my backcountry climbing pursuits anyway.
The new truck has 225k mi, a (dealer installed!) 1st gen TRD supercharger and e-locker. Runs and drives like a dream despite some deferred suspension & steering maintenance.
Current plans: catch up on maintenance, mainly I'm planning a complete suspension and steering rebuild and servicing the supercharger (nose cone rebuild) over the holidays. Then, I'll get (or fab) a roof rack and build a simple drawer & folding bed system for the back. Will probably try to upgrade the brakes eventually, maybe install an external AT cooler. That's probably going to be it. I prefer simple and functional.

I agree, old 4Runners with newer 4Runner wheels look great!
Just purchased a 4Runner!
I was driving a 2018 civic sport and I had just recently paid it off. I was looking for used car so I could sell my civic and save the difference. Stumbled upon this 2001 4Runner with 84,000 miles . It’s in amazing condition for being 20 years old. The engine seems to be perfect and it drives real smooth. The only things I found wrong with it so far are
1) clicking/ticking noise from glovebox area when turning ac or heat on . Doesn’t matter which one . And also there is very little to almost no air coming out of the passenger side vent.
2) sun roof won’t open. Motor seems to be making a sound but it will not open.
3) 4WD light indication on the dash won’t light up as well as the 4tires light will not illuminate as well so I’m unsure if the car goes into 4WD or not at this time.
4) front passenger window will not roll down using the master switch as well as the passenger switch.
5) lastly rear air doesn’t blow . Don’t really care much about that probably won’t use it much.
I am most concerned about the 4wd lights not illuminating . I have searched the forum and saw a few threads on this so I guess when it warms up a bit I’ll have to get under there and try some of these possible solutions.

You need to upload your photos to a site like Flickr and then use the IMG tags to post here. There's tutorials on this site but it's basically the same for all vBulletin forums.

New here, and I finally picked her up.
2002 SR5 V6 2wd (I know). One owner, all MX done on time. 147k miles. Rust free CA and TX truck. Its going to be a fun daily. Oh, it was 2k cash. I think its a steal. I just drove it 900 miles and it was flawless.
