I just lifted my 3rd gen about 3.5" and i just have some questions regarding rims and tires...

I want to run 33"s or maybe squeeze 35"s i have the 1.25" wheel spacers

i am a little confused as far as what size to get

i have the stock 16" rims so is it worth getting new rims?

Also id like the tires to look fat so maybe an aspect ratio of 75 or 80 if thats possible

Also what can i do as far as upgrading the fender flares to be more noticeable

You need to do a little more research on tires and what the numbers mean ext, and what will and can fit on our trucks... I'm not trying to be a dick, and if I was at a computer I'd go ahead and post up the info you need to look through, but I'm on my phone and that makes the task infinitely more difficult

What makes the tires look "fat" is the width (the first number).

Tire size broken down:

285/75-16

285mm wide / 75 aspect ratio meaning the side wall is 75% of 285mm or 213mm tall - 16 inch rim size.

In your case for a "fat" tire that won't be too hard to fit, I would suggest a 305/70/16. It's basically 33x12. Ideally you should run a wider wheel than your stocker to fit these tires. Or just get a 285/75-16 that will fit on your stock wheels fine with the spacers.

Going to a 35x12.5 (aka 315/75-16) is going to require a lot of trimming of the body work and you'll probably want to re-gear your axles, which is an extra couple grand on top of the cost of tires.

35's will need lots of cutting, hammering and work to fit without tons of rubbing when flexing. 33's work great on stock rims with spacers up front and a little cutting to front valence and sometimes rear bumper.

35's are not the best idea on a daily driver IFS truck. It wears out ball joints, cv shafts and tie rod ends very quickly. Not to mention gas mileage is hurt and gearing sometimes needed.

First: Is your 3rd Gen a Limited, with the full body molding, or a SR5 with just the flares?

Second: Are you running a body lift? Do you have any reason NOT to run a body lift, besides the fact that you don't want to?

When I had 37's, i clearanced the truck for them. I cut 3/4" from each corner, and beat the firewall in. I didn't have wheel spacers at the time, and was rubbing the frame at full lock. Having said that, I'm now running 35/12.50/16 on my Runner right now, and except for 1.25" wheel spacers, I don't have any problems. I needed the spacers, because with the stock rims, I couldn't even bolt the tire on. It was hitting my UCA. BUT, no problems now.

I'm also runnning a 1.5" 4Crawler Body Lift. Hence why I haven't had to do a "whole lot of cutting." The more BL you go with, the less cutting you'll have to do. Having said that, I would advise against going with a 4" BL, but a 2-3" should do you fine, especially for 33s. Probably will be good for 35's too, with some minor firewall beating.

Here she is flexing on the 37s, with 35" tires. Not the best picture; I can get more if needed.
