3rd row seat

For those (few) of you with the 3rd row, what is your opinion after having it for a while? Is it as useful as you anticipated? Do you miss the slight reduction in cargo space? Is anyone complaining about comfort?

I would only have kids back there, just wondering how it is working out convenience and comfort-wise.

Works great for kids. Maybe adults fro around the block but that would be about it. I really don't see it as a loss of space, especially compared to the 4runners out there with the sliding cargo deck - they both appear to use the same amount of space.

I enjoy having mine as I work with a large group of people, so when we go out, I can pack 5 in mine and no one has griped to much about being in the far back. Its more of a pain to get out of the back as there isnt much to hold on to.

The limited space when the seats are up can be a pain, but opening the back window to drop things down has made it easier than opening the door to put them in.

It's perfect for our 10 and 7 year olds. I haven't had any adults in the 3rd row yet.

99% of the time I have the 3rd row down and don't notice the lack of space due to the seats in the floor. We even packed the back during our camping trip and had plenty of room for all our gear.

I have one seat up and the other down at all times which makes it easy for my 5-year-old to climb in there from behind. Installed a Bully hitch step for him to step up on to enter from the back hatch.

would the 94 LC Third Row Seat fit the 4th Gen 4R?

I like the '92~'94 LC Third Row Seat and would like to put in my 4R. have you all tried putting in the LC seat in the 4R?

Yeah the '10 has a standard bracket for mounting 92-94 LC seats in the back already....... :wow:

With enough imagination I guess you could bolt it down somehow.

I hope I'm not threadjacking, but to add to the OP's questions, is there any noticeable difference in 2nd row seat height with the 3rd row option? I'm 6', and in the 2nd row in the T4R without the 3rd row I was able to test-drive locally put my head rubbing the headliner.

Since the 3rd row option is an unobtanium option here in Chicago, I'm apparently ordering based on Internet pics and opinions. Appreciate the help.
