3RZ timing chain replacement?

I just purchased a used 3RZ from a wrecking yard. It supposedly runs and compression checks 175psi on all four cyl. I asked how many miles on the motor and the he didn't know. The motor has a 100 day warranty.

Should I pull the timing cover and inspect the timing parts as per FSM or are these things so robust just put it in?

I just pulled my valve cover to check my valve clearances and timing chain. After nearly 170K miles the valves are smack in the middle of spec and the timing chain and guides show little to no wear. If I were picking up the engine I would just pull the valve cover to check the aforementioned items, plus to make sure there isn't any sludging or other abnormalities.

Valve adjustments are really the only thing that need to be done outside of normal maintenance. The chain should last the life of the motor and then some. The 3RZ is a pretty robust motor.
