4.7 V8 in 3rd Gen? is it possible?

sorry if this has been brought up. i was just curious...can the 4.7L fit in the 3rd gen? would it be a huge pain? could the tranny handle the torque? i'm assuming it can handle the power since its less horsepower than the 3.4 with the supercharger, correct?

while we are on this topic...would the 4.0 V6 fit easier? i'm guessing that either way it would be costly...but is it possible?

I would really doubt a 4.7 L would fit in and the 4.7L definitely has more hp than a supercharged 3.4 L. I also doubt a 4.0L would fit in a 3rd gen because i have never seen it before and the 3.4 L looks pretty shoe-horned in already.

Anything is possible. People have put a Supra TT engine in an S2000, and an S2000 engine in a Toyota Corolla. All it takes is $$$$$$.

Anyway, people have put in 4.0L V8's (from the SC400's, etc. 1UZ engine) into 3rd Gens. That seems like the most cost effective choice, because the engine is fairly cheap.

If money isn't a concern, I'd love to put the new 4.0 V6's into our 3rd gens. The 4.0 puts out plenty of power for me, and gets the same gas mileage.

But in the end, no complaints about the 3.4L. Gets the job done for me.

i believe youd have to change everything up to the tc for the 4.7 to work, i doubt it would fit to begin with.
