where is the header purchased from? toyota? other parts as well?
how much is that shorty? exhaust shops in my area are a bunch of hacks, and i don't want them doing any work on my trucks. prefer the shorty.

I didn't take off the header, but I have the oem shorty header on there so it's a little less crowded. I also did it during an oil change, but you won't have to dump the oil to do it, you will loose the small amount in the filter though. Just top it off after, also go to the car wash and wash all that oil off there after to make sure it doesent continue to leak.
I think that is the only subject that has not been discussed. The 3rz responds very well to tuning period. Even keeping the engine na can be built to match and surpass the 5vz without doing anything more than bolt on parts.
One of mine is close. I adjusted the valves about 10k ago. I figure in another 20 I can check it and if need be replace a couple of the valves. Not sure how to do that or if just pulling the head and replacing them all would be the better idea.I haven't seen anyone mention it in this thread yet, but the 2RZ and 3RZ are known for exhaust valves to get out of tolerance and burn up.
I haven't looked too closely into this yet, mostly because I still haven't got mine wired up yet, but what bolt ons would get you 200hp out of a 3RZ? Header/cam/intake?
