4 or 5 rims

I'm in the process of upgrading the rims and tires on our limited and was wondering when somebody buys my rims and tires would they be more interested if I sold all 5 or would they keep their spare and only need 4. My spare is a factory 20 and not that yellow rim that I've seen on other limited's so it could be rotated in. Any opinion would be appreciated

Thanks

If you can get more for 5 then I would sell it . I still have my useless 20 " yellow/green spare just sitting in my garage. Yours would be the first painted 20 inch Limited spare that I've heard of.It's hard to tell until you take it down as the backside looks the same. You sure your's is really painted silver?

Here's a great deal on some 10' SR5 wheels on Ebay that just came up today......Slightly Used 2010 Toyota 4Runner Stock Alloy Wheels: eBay Motors (item 280562305192 end time Oct-14-10 14:59:15 PDT)

Son of B??ch mine is Yellow/green as well. that being said does it even make sense to include it. Thanks Harper7 for the correction

Also I am replacing the limited wheels with a wider 20" wheel with some 275 55 r20 Cooper Zeon Ltz tires

Painted?

I haven't checked my spare to see if it's green yet, but the stock limited wheels aren't painted silver?

I wonder how much money Toyota saved by not finishing the spare wheels on the 5th gen?

LOL, I guess 5th gen owners should be thankful they didn't go to a donut spare. That would suck on a midsize SUV with "offroad" intentions.

I just checked the Repair Manual for info on the TPMS system, and it looks like we only have 4 TPMS sensors in the main 4 tires. There doesn't appear to be one in the spare which is really odd, the 4th gens had them in the spare as did my 2008 Tacoma.

Since we only have 4 sensors, its almost pointless to buy 5 aftermarket rims. Usually with 5 same size tires and wheels, you can do a 5 tire rotation, but now with only 4 of the 5 tires having sensors, there is a safety concern. Toyota I guess just wants us to use the spare in emergency situations, short term which is stupid!

This kinda goes with your original post, since it almost sounds like you would buy 5 new wheels and tires if you were planning on selling all 5 of your stock ones.

Even if you only use the spare as a true spare as I do, it would be nice if it had the TPMS. Nothing worse than having a flat and finding your spare is under inflated.

Very good point. I just bought one of the wheels that Harper listed, and another tire. Thanks for the link Harper! I will let the forum know the quality of the one I bought. Sorry for anybody who was eying the set as 4 rims! I want to do the sensor on my fifth...this post is merging info with another one I made earlier today...

Does the system have an allocation for the 5th wheel? I would be surprised if it did. I would have guessed FR, FL, RR, RL.

The sensor cost about $94.00 Plus tax then the vale is another $10.00, together you looking at about $120.00.
